  • Sarah ran back to the group just as the sun was beginning to disappear altogether.
"Sarah - is everything alright? Are you-" Jason began worriedly.
Sarah didn't seem to notice that he had even spoken. "I found the perfect cave, just half-a-mile or so," she began excitedly.
"Take us to it," Jason demanded with a smile.

When the four arrived at a cave likely a home for a bear - at least, it looked like it - Sarah paused. "Wait. There's something off-"
"My, my. Three little piggies, lost in the woods." Two dark green eyes that matched the forest seemed to slow slightly in the coming darkness. Two other things were visible in the low light; four blades, just like Sarah's, except straighter, longer, and more steel-looking than white-gold.
Sarah's claws immediately crawled out of her skin. "Who're you?" she demanded, narrow-eyed.
No answer but a shadowed smile.
Shadowshade had tensed as well as Jake and Jason, but stayed quiet.
    Jake shifted uneasily.
Jason had summoned fire to his hands.
"What are you doing here, stranger?" Sarah demanded again.
"Better ask that to yourselves. I live here, of course."
"I didn't see you here before. Who are you?"
"How rude. Take a guess." The stranger jumped down and stepped into the last light.
A girl with black hair and green eyes, well-built around the chest and waist but with thinner arms than Sarah and leaner legs underneath a shred of jeans and black tank-top.

  • OOC: You have about five now! :o :P

Mike and Time fell asleep in their rooms already, but Nate remained wide awake.
    ----------------------
Nate sat on the ground, in front of his Lego fort. He twirled his hair as he thought about the prisoner that escaped, Nick Skyler... what importance does he have in the group to have to escape? It can't be just so he doesn't have to tell anything... he looked at the wind up robot walking next to him, it bumped into one of the walls of the fort and fell down, slowly coming to a stop.

Nate narrowed his eyes, I should ask Near about this, for his opinion... no, he looked out at the disappearing light from his window, he'll just say the same thing, maybe less, he doesn't have the papers to the case so he won't know as much as I know now.

He looked back down at the robot in front of him, he brushed the hood off the head of the robot reveiling a blank face with a question mark, I'll just have to find out somehow on my own...

  • [That was my goal]

"Look at her hands. Just like you, Sarah," Jason muttered.
    "Jason?"
    "Yeah?"
"Shut up." Sarah looked at the stranger.
"Still clueless?" She sighed. "Name's Em."
    "Em? For 'Emma'?"
Em tensed and turned her eyes onto Jake. "You call me Emma and I'll rip your head off. Just saying." She looked at Jason and chuckled to herself before her eyes found Shadowshade. Her eyes widened. "You."
"Me?" Shadowshade took a step back, confusion enfolding in his eyes.
"Yes, you. Icebrain. You were with the trackers."
"He saved my life," Jason growled, watching her warily. "He's with us."
Em snorted. "Yeah, sure. Whatever." She looked at Sarah and eyed her blades with interest. "You put your toys away, I put away mine."
"I think you have it backwards," Sarah tensed.
"No, I got it right." Em tilted her head. "What? Kitty scared of the big, bad wolf?"
Kitty hissed through her teeth and sheathed her claws.
Em, unsmiling yet her eyes danced with amusement, did the same. Her hands, unlike Sarah's, had not bled.

  • Nate slowly stood up, walking to his bed and putting his covers over his head.... he suddenly gripped his blankets tight, and shut his eyes, he felt his heart clenching in his chest but he panic as much, he wouldn't die anyways. He didn't bother to call anyone, no one would do anything anyways. He tried to slow his breath as the pain shot through his chest endlessly...

OOC: Like I said before, Nate's a test and a power source :P
    when's a timeskip?

  • [Now, I suppose]

The five were asleep, deep in the cave. Jake was leaning against the cave wall, his head hanging. Jason was scrunched up with his head pressed against his knees, and Sarah was laying down, gripping her labrys necklace pendant. Shadowshade was resting, supporting his head on his hands and his elbows on his knees, but still awake. Em was outside, on post.

    -~- Timeskip -~-

Something poked at Sarah. She opened her eyes to see Em. She scowled at her and got up without a word.
Em rolled her eyes. "Breakfast time, sleeping beauty," she growled, getting up to wake Jake.
Shadowshade was now leaning against the cave wall, watching and nibbling on a..the nut inside an acorn, it looked like.
Jason watched Sarah as his vision cleared from sleep. He got to his feet and wandered over to Shadowshade, curious of what he was eating.
Jake seemed to be having a nightmare. Em pressed a cold hand against his cheek, but to no avail. She finally tugged at his ankles. Jake's head banged against the ground, and he woke up with a start to see Em frowning down at him. "Breakfast." She pointed towards Jason and Shadowshade; Jason nibbled on some berries.

  • Mike tapped Nate on the shoulder, "hey, wake up sleepy head" he chimed, smiling.

Nate groaned and put his covers over his head more, "leave me alone Mike"

Mike rolled his eyes and took the covers off of Nate, helping him up, "it's once every three days in average, you don't have to be so stubborn about it"

Nate sat up, sighing he stood up and walked out with Mike. He acted pretty normal even after the rough night, other then rubbing his chest a lot he was his old playful self, "where's Time?" he smiled.

Mike looked back at Nate, "he's already eaten already, now he's just on the 5th floor I guess" he lead Nate into the cafeteria. It was basically the same old high-school kind of thing but with more restarant traits and many more options to eat.

They both sat down and picked their breakfast. Nate nibbled on his toast as he twirled his hair with one hand, he didn't feel too hungry but he finished his breakfast anyways. He stood up and walked away from the cafeteria, "I'm going to find Time"

Mike nodded, taking his time with his own breakfast...

  • "This is our breakfast?" Sarah looked at the sad gathering of blueberries.
"Yeah. You got a problem with it?" Em narrowed her eyes at her.
    "Do you?"
    "Do you, punk?"
    "Yeah, I think I do-"
Jason cleared his throat loudly. The two looked at him and fell silent.
Shadowshade sat farther away from everyone else. He had abandoned his odd acorn meal - Jake had asked about it, bringing up that it isn't a human meal with Shadow shrugging and saying that he wasn't human - and Jake had walked off without a single bite.
Jake paused, walking the last several feet to the Broadwood Cafe on Main Street. Had Time come? Where was the stranger?

  • When Nate entered the fifth floor he didn't see Time, "Time?" he looked around the room, the huge windows on the walls showed the road track below, "Time?" he said again but still no sign of him. He sighed and turned back to the elevator, if he knew him then Time would be either near the park or at his old house... but he'll never leave this early...

Time walked down the street to where Jake said to meet, seeing that he was already there he gave a small wave over to him. He stopped in front of Jake, "so? Where's that man you met the other day?"

  • "Right here."
At the door, two silver eyes gleamed and became visible. The rest of the stranger's body followed, covered in a grey overcoat and low black boots.
He walked over to them, the patterned fedora covering his pepper-colored hair. He looked at Jake. "Glad you decided to come, son." He looked at Time and added, "And your friend. Time, is it? It's a wonder you two get along quite so smoothly." His eyes had an amused, smiling look to them[Kinda like Charles Xavier of the X-Men].

  • Time looked at the stranger's eyes curiously, it's not normal to see someone with silver eyes yet it wasn't normal to see someone with red eyes. He smiled as he thought of Beyond and dipped his head to the man, "it's nice to meet you too sir" he turned to Jake, "and he's your father?" he asked, tilting his head.

  • Jake looked wounded almost immediately. "I - no. Not at all! My father ..." Jake looked uncomfortable and shook his head.
The stranger chuckled. "No. Merely a friend."
"I barely even know you!" Jake laughed nervously.
"Ah, right. Allow me to introduce myself." The man smiled apologetically. "Axel Heartfire, at your service." He offered his hand to Jake, who shook with an odd look on his face.
"That name sounds familiar," Jake admitted to the man as he offered Time his hand after Jake let go.

    [Heh - I love plans ;D]

  • Time widened his eyes, and shakingly took the man's hand, "u-uh... h-hi?" he sounded unsure, looking at Axel like he was a celebrity or something. He quickly took a few steps back and blinked, "u-um... d-do you happen to be part of some legend?" he blurted out.

OOC: Poor Time, he knows about Axel and he doesn't know where to start :P

  • "Excuse me?" Axel asked politely, although something had slighted into his tone - uneasiness, for the first time.
"Yeah, Time - what are you talking about?" Jake looked at his friend and suddenly had the impression that Time knew something that Jake didn't.

    [lol]

  • Time stammered a bit, "you know... about saving some Talent world from non-existence and all that?" he asked, feeling awkward about saying it. He felt stupid as well, if this was the wrong person then he'll be just blabbing random stuff to a stranger, what an embarrassment!

  • Axel watched Time closely for a moment, as if debating whether or not he was serious. Then, suddenly, he laughed.
Jake stared at him. "Um, sir?"
Axel's eyes were filled with amusement. "Ah, yes. I almost forgot about that!"
"Sir..?" Jake was beginning to get a little freaked by his sudden surprising reaction.
Axel looked at the two of them, sober once more. "Yes, actually." He looked at Time. "The Seekers had disbanded from the government. They were a special branch of government, you know; the closest one to the White House, as well. Very important group, and very disliked because of it. They began to run their own program, no matter what the government, FBI - you get the idea - wouldn't dare mess with them. Most of the Seekers then were still human, and intent on mulling out the 'disease' of Talents." He paused. "And then I came." His voice, at that last comment, had turned husky and quiet.

  • Time's eyes brightened, "so it is you!" he smiled, then remembered something, "but didn't you disappear after that war?" he was muttering but loud enough for the two of them to hear. He scratched his chin in a wondering way, not sure of what Axel or what he said...

  • "You sound almost happy, kid." Axel didn't sound so excited; more like he'd just been reminded of a bad nightmare from his childhood. "The First Silent War. It has it's name for a reason. I didn't disappear, kid. I just traveled."
Jake stiffened at the word use. "What do you mean?"
Axel turned his head to look at Jake with brightened eyes. "I think you know exactly what I mean."
A shiver ran through Jake's spine.

  • Time looked between Axel and Jake, "uh... recap please?" he asked, scratching his head. Indeed he knew he was too happy for a situation like this but that's just him, always happy in the most worse situations.

  • Axel smiled. "Jake is a Timewalker. Didn't he tell you that?"
Jake had paled immensely. "In the visions, I'm in a different place and time than the here and now," he explained uneasily, looking at Time. He looked at Axel. "So, what? Do you have...visions too?"
Axel shook his head. "Not exactly. I could control it."

  • Time looked interested in the situation, tilting his head as he asked, "control it? Does that mean you can see whatever time and place you want?" he smiled, "that would be so cool" then he scratched his head again, "though even though my name is Time I don't have that ability..."
