Jake seemed to notice Time's odd cheerfulness and glanced back at him curiously as Em led them further and deeper into the forest, where it became more dense and dark. Somewhere was the sound of rushing water; they seemed to be heading in that vague direction.

Time was trying to get a conversation starting with Nate but he was obviously not interested in talking o he just kept answering with short answers. Time pouted and crossed his arms, deciding to let Nate break for a while.
Nate looked back at Time then smiled, looking forward again, tilting his head at the sound of rushing water.
-
"Careful; there's a drop here," Em said, pausing and glancing back at the three of them. "Lucky for you bubs there's a safer way down." She began down a set of stair-like stones.
Jake followed her.
-
Time and Nate followed as well, Nate rubbing his chest a lot.
-
"You alright, Nate?" Jake glanced back and asked.
-
Nate looked up at Jake as if he just realized he was following him, "huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine" he put his hand to the side, covering up his face.
Time marched slowly at the back looking around.
-
Jake blinked and hung back, now walking side-by-side with Nate. "More secrets?" he asked softly, glancing at Time.
They came to a small stream at solid ground. A few trees grew off in the distance, but the rest was a small, round canyon.
-
Time chuckled, "this one is slightly more on Nate's side of the story"he looked back to Nate then the forest in front of them, "are you staying here?"
-
Before Jake could answer, Em said, "Just here." She was heading towards a large cave next to a low waterfall that fell straight into blackness. "Don't fall," she added with a smirk.
Shadowshade got to his feet. "I was wondering when you'd finally get back here, Jake! Em finally had enough and went back to go get you, but..." He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. "I guess you already kinda know that."
Jason appeared at the mouth of the cave and set his mouth, watching Jake.
Sarah was the only one who hadn't yet shown her face.
-
Time smiled at them all and stretched, "well it's good to be back!" he said in a cheerful tone.
Nate looked around the cave, narrowing his eyes at the missing nmber of the group, "wasn't there another one of your team?"
-
"It's not a team-" Jason began to protest.
"-but it is," Sarah's weary voice wafted from inside of the cave. "Hang on, I'm coming."
"But you can't - the wound-" Jason began again.
Sarah interrupted once more. "I can still walk, bumble-brain." There was a scuffling sound, and she appeared at the entrance, though still somewhat embraced by the shadows within the cave. Her t-shirt - she had somehow found another one - was black where her wound from the Whistler was, and a hand was wrapped gingerly around that spot.
Jason walked over to Sarah as if to help support her.
"Kitty's wound has been getting worst and worst, and even Em can't do anything about it," Shadowshade explained softly.
"If I didn't have Jason dogging me the entire time, maybe I could've found something," Em shot back. She sighed. "Sorry. Guess I need my coffee," she joked quietly, walking into the cave's depths.
-
Nate and Time looked concerned to Sarah, they would help as well but bringing a mutant to the hospital would cause a hell lot of questions. Time looked to Em, "do you need any help?"
Nate absently looked around, thinking hard. He twirled his hair with one hand and rubbed his chest with the other, his heart was really irratating him.
-
Em paused, her face shadowed as she turned back to face Time. "I don't, but Sarah does. Unless you know any miracle cures, there's nothing I can do." She disappeared back into the cave's interior.
"I'll be fine," Sarah argued, but winced. "Stupid Whistler. I guess he found the way past my healing abilities. Smart guy."
"I'll kill him," Jason promised darkly.
"You all are so grim," Shadowshade sighed.
"It's because of you people that we're living in the boonies," Jason growled at him.
"I'm not one of them anymore," Shadowshade replied. "It's not my fault they're after you. I don't even know why."
-
Time looked regretfully at Nate, "we should've brought Takada, she's a reprter but has the hands of many doctors at once. I think healing magic is her specailty" he sighed.
Nate nodded in agreement, Takada did manage to help the most serious injuries better than others, it always seem like a wonder how everytime the machine goes overload with the extraction how he always manages to wake up on his bed, perfectly well. He scratched his chest as he thought about it then looked to everyone and sighed.
-
They were all silent for a moment, then Jake asked Time, "Do you know anything about that lab I woke up in?"
-
Time shook his head, "I came to help them upgrade on technology for money, not for information. I only have very little idea of what the lab's true purpose is"
Nate twirled his hair, "in any case, we could help you search up the lab for you, there certainly would be files on it that I can reach."
-
"That'd be great," Jake told him with shadowed eyes and a small smile. "Just as long as I don't have to take another trip there. I still have nightmares about it."
-
OOC: do I make up the facts about the lab or do you have the 'files' already?
Nate nodded to Jake and looked at the others, "are the rest of you doing fine though?" he asked.
Time was leaning on the wall of the cave, looking around with his hands in his pockets.
-
"Except for Sarah, everyone else is fine," Jason told them, sitting down on the iron-driven rock.
[Just make 'em up :)]
-
OOC: oki! This might take a while.... hmmm....
Nate sat down as well on a rock, one leg up, the other down. It was his usual sitting position, so it didn't bother Time that he sat like that in front of other people. Nate put his head on te leg that's up, looing boredly at the ground. He was going to look for the files.. later.
Time looked at the others, "what are we going to do now?"
