• Larkwing checked Cry and Bird for injuries. She didn't know why they'd have any, but better safe than sorry.

  • "FOX!"Deathstride repeated. "IT SHOULDN'T BE FAR BEHI-" he stopped. He saw the fox trotting into the camp. But then- what was that bushy red tail he saw pass by through the trees? 2?!?!?! Wait-3! 4! 5! 8! "8 FOXES! 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL WARRIORS!" he nearly screamed. He said a silent prayer to starclan, and pounced on one's face.

The thing about attacking 1 of 8 foxes before the other fighters get there by pouncing on one's face: You don't know it's a bad idea until your airborn. The second he pounced he wished he hadn't. The fox had no trouble shaking him onto the ground, scraping his back 3 times, stepping on his back-right leg, biting it, and slashing at his heart. "Hello starclan." deathstride mumbled, and blacked out.

  • Enredo looked at Elvina. "Yes, Ting has Spartley and Larkwing and her kits are safe in the nursery." he mewed worriedly.

Elvina nodded. She enjoyed a second of relief before bounding off to the Elder's Den. As she neared the hut, she heard the scream. Eight Foxes! She cursed under her breath. "Elder's," she instructed to the ancient cats that lay in the hut. "I need you to climb trees. Foxes are on their way, and as you know, they rarely climb. If you can climb, help others. I need to warn the Apprentices." She took off, not wanting to look back and feel guilty. Passing a group of warriors, she told them to go help the elders and felt a weight lifted off her shoulders.

  • Enredo watched as one of the foxes came to the nursery. He leapt up into the air and landed on it's back. He dug his claws into the beast's fur and it tried to buck and kick him off. Enredo jumped off right as the fox was beginning to roll over. In a split second, Enredo leapt on top of the fox while it was still on the ground and he sunk his teeth into the fox's neck. As the fox struggled, it clawed at Enredo's belly and bit his face and neck. Despite the pain, he kept his jaws clamped on the fox's throat until it stopped struggling and stopped trying to breathe. Enredo got off of the fox and stood guard once more near the nursery, though he was struggling to stay on his paws. Enredo could feel blood oozing out of his body from many wounds. Suddenly he remembered Meemow and the others in the Disabled Den. Great StarClan! If a fox got in there, and killed the medicine cat, there was no hope for any of them! He debated for a second if he should guard that den instead of the Nursery. Finally, he decided to stay put. Larkwing can't risk being injured, she has three kits to nurse! Meemow, even though she's half-mad, can protect them for the moment. he thought.

  • Dodging foxes, Yanjun bounded into the disabled hut. "Whatever you do, protect the kit," he hissed. Ting nodded and stood in front of the enterance, hoping that she'd be able to protect both Spartley and Meemow from the foxes.

  • Elvina ran to the Apprentice Den. She skidded to a halt in front of the hut opening. After a brief description of what was going on, she took her stance in front to protect them. She shuddered to think what was going on in the other huts.

  • When Deathstride woke up, he thought he was in the medicine den. He wasn't. He was a prisoner to the foxes, out in the woods, out of their hunting territory. Foxes surrounded him. He couldn't move his back-right leg, the one that had been stepped on and bitten. He was bleeding fast, and his chest was on FIRE. He was barely able to stay awake, but he propped himself up against the tree behind him. Man, do I wish I had never pounced on that fox! he thought.

  • Larkwing scrambled to her feet. "Enredo, you should protect the Disabled Hut. I can manage here." The blind queen was terrified, but she knew she had to protect her Clanmates. "There's no reason that I won't be fine," she mewed to herself.

  • Enredo stared at the queen for a second. If something happened to her or those kits, he could never forgive himself. Reluctantly, he nodded, licked her cheek, and padded over to the Disabled Den.

  • Ting saw Enredo coming to the hut. "Tell him to go away, you can protect the hut on your own," Yanjun hissed in her ear. Ting reluctantly nodded and bared her teeth at the tom.

  • Ting sighed. "Please don't make me do that ever again, Yanjun." Then she turned around to check on Spartley and Meemow.

  • Larkwing raised an eyebrow when Enredo came back, but didn't pry.

  • Deathstride started looking for a way to take down several foxes at the same time. He saw a big branch above the camp that if he clawed at where it was snapping, would fall directly on top of a few, and if they weren't hit, it would make them stare in shock for about 2 seconds, when he could get a head start running the other way. "But how can I get up there without being seen?" he asked himself. He sighed and put the idea aside.

  • Enredo froze in horror at the fox coming their way. He jumped in front of Larkwing just as the fox was about to hit her with it's claws. He took a strong blow to the neck, and he fell on the ground at Larkwings paws.

  • Ting watched in horror as Enredo fell to the ground. "Yanjun, let me help!" She begged. The skeleton shook his head. "Larkwing will help."

  • In defeat, Deathstride finally gave up hope. He looked to the sky, and realized his eyes were playing tricks on him. He thought he saw a cat, in the tree, clawing at the branch. Ha! Wait- he did. A cat was rescuing him! The cat looked down at him, and his expression was clear: pretend you're about to attack to get them all in the right spot under the tree branch so I can crush them! Deathstride thought it was a really long facial expression. He stood up, and got ready to pounce.

The foxes saw it right away. They slowly neared him, closer, closer, closer-[glow=orange,2,300]CRACK! BAM![/glow]
