    Icekit watched with horror as her best friend became an apprentice. "My turn, now!" she demanded. The crowd gasped. "You cannot become an apprentice, you are only five moons old." Rumblestar retorted.

    Robinkit and Skykit glanced at Icekit, wearing identical expressions of shock.


    Stormkit stood there, annoyed.


    Flamepelt looked back and forth between Icekit and Rumblestar. How dare she.. he thought. At the same time he felt bad for the kit.

    Cragfoot padded forward, "Last night, I dreamed of many dangers, but ice saved us from all of them."
    Surely this is a sign." Rumblestar frowned at his brother, then leaned towards him to whisper in his ears. After a few minutes of their conversing, Rumblestar turn back to the crowd. "It seems that, according to our medicinecat, it would be best for our clan if Icekit became an apprentice early."

    "Who will mentor this kit?" Rumblestar asked his clan.


    "I do not mean to disrespect our leader, but I will not dishonor the warrior code." Riverpelt stated

    Oh man. Fluffykit and Salmonkit bother thought. "Whos my mentor?" Fluffykit asked and was sorry to speak when not spoken to.

    "Your mentor is Pinefur, if you were listening." Mangypelt whispered to his daughter.


    The other cats showed their agreement with Riverpelt by nodding, whispering, and mumbling


    "If none of you shall train Icekit then I will." Rumblestar growled. "Icekit, from now on, until you become a warrior, your name shall be Icepaw." he purred nervously. "And I shall be your mentor."
    Finally Rumblestar asked his clan, "Shall we continue the ceremony?"

    "Yes!" Skykit called out. Robinkit nodded in agreement.


    Flamepelt glanced at Icekit, surprised at Rumblestar's statement. He wondered who he would get to mentor.

    "You shall be Leafpaw until you become a warrior." Rumblestar announced "And your mentor shall be Snowfoot."


    Snowfoot touched noses with Leafpaw, "You ready to learn?" she asked her.


    Icepaw sighed, "This gets old real fast."

    Robinkit stared at Icepaw, envying that she got to become an apprentice early. Sighing she kicked around the dirt beneathe her feet and wrapped her tail around herself.
