  • Snowfoot nodded as she lead them out of the camp. She slowly and carefully weaved her way down the cliff-side path. This path is hard enough to traverse in the daylight! She thought bitterly. Finally, they reached the foot of the cliff. She turned around to make sure that everyone was still following. Mangypelt took a step forward, parting his mouth to catch a scent. "There's some over here." He mewed, taking the lead. As there older warriors went ahead a voice behind Fluffypelt whispered, "Psst, Fluffypelt, over here!"

  • OOC: You do realize that I never said that it was Mangypelt speaking, right?

"I didn't say anything!" Mangypelt shook his head. "Psst." Stonebelly stuck his head out of the bushes behind Fluffypelt. "Over here." He whispered, beckoning.

  • [ well mangypelt was in that paragraph so it could have been him. ]

Fluffypelt frowned and followed the voice. This isn't a good idea, she thought to herself. Then a lightbulb turned on. It was time to put her training into use. She saw a rustle in the bushes and pounced, landing on the Tom.

  • "Mousebrain!" Stonebelly hissed. "It's just me!" He shook her off and pulled himself back on to his paws. "What was that for?" He asked, trying not to show how winded he was.

  • Skyfall screamed as the water from the splash was sprayed at her then giggled and jumped in after Raindrop.

Flamepelt sighed. He thought about Moonlight and hoped she would feel better soon. It's probably nothing.. he thought. He decided to go hunting to pass the time away. Getting to his feet, he padded out of the camp and into the forest.

  • "For showing up and wanting to meet when my clanmates are still here!" Fluffypelt hissed back. Why does he have to be such a bird brain sometimes? She thought to herself. "And this for showing up at all!" She said and swiped at him her claws seethed. "And this for being so stupid!" She said as she jumped on him. "And this is for smelling like foxdung!" She gave a give with her hind legs and jumped off, almost feeling tired from being so furious. "Okay, now I'm done."

"This is soo much fun!" Raindrop said while laughing.

  • "Aw, that's too bad." Stonebelly looked away and turned back with a smile on his face. "You're so cute when you're angry." His ears perked up as he heard the other cats coming towards them. "Same time, same place, Tomorrow!" Stonebelly crept off as quietly as he came. "Fluffypelt, where are you?" Mangypelt called.

  • Snowfoot led the group back up the path with a renewed energy. As they neared the camp, they heard wailing coming inside. Cloudtear rushed out to meet them. "It's too late!" She cried. "Cavelake is dead." Snowfoot lowered her head in sadness. "How could he have died from whitecough?" She asked. Cloudtear shook her head mournfully. "It escalated to greencough while you were gone." "We'll need the catnip yet." Cragtooth mewed in a worried hush. "Rumblestar has caught the greencough!"

  • Snowfoot gasped, her eyes widening with fear. "We must go to him now!"

Cragtooth shook his head sadly, "No, one thing at a time." He picked up the catmint and padded towards the nursery. He put down the catmint and started crushing into a pulp and fed it to the sick kit. He sighed as the pulp went down the kit's throat. "Rumblestar has many lives, this kit only has one."

"Now may we go?" Snowfoot asked anxiously.

"Not 'till I know for sure that this is better." Cragtooth muttered as feel the kit's temperature, which started to go down. "Okay." He spoke after he was satisfied with the heat. "We may go now!"

  • Lionspirit frowned as his friend left. He appreciated the StarClan kit's general excitement for everything. He padded over to his sister and flicked his tail over her nose affectionately. "Are you ready for our silent vigil?" He asked, not quite sure if he was ready himself.

  • {Yeaaah... Time flies..}

"I think so!" Rosehoney meowed brightly as her eyes were bright with excitement, though dimmed ever so slightly that you could hardly tell by uncertainty.

  • Lionspirit nodded. He too felt excited for their right-of-passage. He wondered how he could ever do all the things both the Warriorcode and StarClan required. "I hope that we will be warriors worthy of our clan." He sighed

Cragtooth trudged towards Rumblestar's den. StarClan only knows what he would encounter there, but he was certain no alternative was good. He tasted the air before entering. It tasted of sickness and something else. Death, no doubt! Cragtooth thought grimly before his eyes had adjusted to the darkness of the den.

  • "Yeah.." Rosehoney sighed in agreement before glancing up at the sky, wondering how much time they had until their silent vigil.

Leafbreeze watched as Cragtooth headed into Rumblestar's den, seeing the look on his face and catching the scent of death too, her eyes clouding with worry and concern.

  • Cragtooth's eyes adjusted to dimly lit den to find the disheveled form of his leader and his brother. The scent of death was apparent on Rumblestar's pelt. He's in StarClan's paws now. he thought, knowing that there was nothing he could do nothing but watch and wait. After what seemed like moons later, Rumblestar awoke. "Rest, my brother." Cragtooth pressed his tail against Rumblestar's flank to calm him down. "I'll keep watch while you rest." He took his leave and sat outside of his brother's den. As he watched, Redstream and Frostmoon taking the lifeless form of Cavelake out of the camp. Cragtooth wondered how much more would have to endure as he watched the sun climb into the sky.

  • Snowfoot sadly plodded towards where the former apprentices were keeping watch. "You may go and rest a little before you are called to your various duties." She motioned towards the warriors' den before padding away to join Cragtooth.

Lionspirit wearily dragged himself to the warriors' den. Despite his exhaustion he couldn't help being excited about finally entering the warriors' den. He curled up with a purr rumbling in his throat and gleam in his eyes.
