Kidnapped

    Jack stared into the campfire, nonchalantly. The flames leapt and spun, a bright golden color.

    Alex walked toward the leaping flames, listening to the chatter of her fellow campers. When she reached the scene, she sat on a log next to her brother Percy. He batted Alex's long black hair out of his face. Teasingly, she grabbed a handful and tried to tickle his nose. Percy laughed and pushed her. About to shove him back, she stopped when Mr. D called for attention. Alex satisfied herself with a punch at Percy's arm, which he failed to dodge.

    Jack glanced up, curiosity flickered in his eyes. He looked behind him to see, Alex. He gave her a small smile before turning his attention forward.


    OOC:Do you want to intitiate the quest?

    As her eyes locked with Jack's for a few small seconds, Alex found herself blushing. She didn;t blush easily, so she wondered at this as she listened to Mr. D's announcement, "Another glorious evening with you...interesting children. As Chiron and I have decided, capture the flag is canceled for tomorrow." A groan escaped the crowd, quickly scilenced by a glare from Mr. D, "Instead, we have decided to hold a chariot race," a cheer erupted, again scilenced by a glare. "You are each to be paired up with someone who is not in your cabin." Mr. D continued to talk as Alex and Percy exchanged dissapointed looks. Alex, however, knew Percy was at least half delighted at this. He would be pining after Annabeth as soon as the Mr. D stopped talking and the marshmellows were passed out. She wondered who she would like to be with. Nico de Angelo was visiting, he's probably not going to race though; Jason might be willing, but then again, he would probably be with Piper. Someone handed Percy a marshmellow, 3, 2, 1 he set off in the direction of Annabeth. As she took her marshmellow, Leo Valdez slid up and sat on the log. He turned to her, "So Alex," he started, "would you like to..." He stopped when she turned her sparkling sea-blue eye's on him. There was something about her eyes that stopped even the smoothest boy in his tracks, as far as she knew, only Percy was immune to it. "Yes?" she asked. "Wwwell," he stuttered, "I was jjjust wonndering if yyou woullld, umm, yyyou knowww,"

    "Hey Alex, would you like to team up with me?' Jack asked pleasantly, he turned to Leo, "You don't mind do you?" he asked politely. He gestured to a group of campers, "You have a big fan-group. And all of them want to be your partner, just think about that." he added softly, casting a suggestive look at a trio of girls who were all giving him hopefull, doefull glances. "Unless Alex absolutely wants to partner with you?" he asked, not wanting to disrespect Alex.

    "Sure Jack,I love to be your partner," Alex smiled brightly at him.

    Jack grinned, "Then you have the horses, I'll take the chariot. I have a few favors I'm going to use from Hephastus cabin, they can help with our weapons." he said calmly, casting an inquisitive glance at Leo, "Would you mind helping?" he asked, suddenly realizing Leo was from Hephestus. He slapped his forehead, "I feel slightly stupid." he mumbled.

    Alex laughed, "I'll get the best horses out there. Now shoo," she said, "I have to concentrate." She made an elaborate show of putting her marshmallow on the exact right place on her roasting stick.

    Jack grinned and laughed, "I'll leave you to your amazing marshmellow roasting skills. Oh, and I'll get the best chariot there is to match the horses." He trotted back to the other side of the fire, his face never completley bathed in light or shadow.

    "When you find one suitable we can trick it out!" she called after him, then she turned and stared at her "amazing marshmallow roasting skills". What the others didn't know, was that she used the vapor in the air to keep her 'mallows from burning. his is how she acquired a perfectly even coat of brown and the title, "Best Roaster".

    Jack chuckled, "You bet!" he called, already going through blueprints in his mind.

    Jack feverishly worked on his plan, finally putting it down to get breakfast.

    Alex walked out of the stables pocketing the keys to stalls 5 and 6. She ran to the mess hall and grabbed a bite and met Jack on the way out. "How's the chariot coming?" she asked.

    Jack grinned, "Great! I just finished with the design of the chariot's base." He cracked his knuckles, "I'll grab some breakfast and then I can show you." He jogged inside and grabbed a bagel, quickly spreading cream cheese on the inside.

    "Cool," Alex said, "Lets go talk about it by the stables, then I can show you what I found." She smiled slyly and walked to a shaded rock near the stables.

    Jack jogged to his cabin, his mouth full of bagel. Inside he saw his siter Annabeth with Percy Jackson. They both were discussing something in low tones, but both stopped talking when they saw him. "Oh sorry, I just to grab something." he muttered. He grabbed his blue-print. "Hey, you did that?" Annabeth asked, "I was looking at it earlier, good job!" she said, her voice somewhat emmbarresed. Jack grinned, "Yep! Worked on it all night." he said with a yawn, "I have to go find Alex, we're working together." he said with a quick glance in Percy's direction. "Mind if we join you?" Annabeth asked, "No problem." Jack muttered. He left the cabin, trailed by the two talking about, something.
    He caught sight of Alex, "I got the blueprints!" when he got closer, "And these two." he muttered jerking a thumb behind him. They were to far away to hear, but soon they caught up.

    IC: "Great, well sorta," Alex waved to Annabeth. She punched Percy when he came over, "Can't you have your dates someplace else?" she teased. "Why is it a problem? Just think of it as a double date!!" He laughed but was cut off when Alex tackled him. She ended up on top and Percy laying underneath her, trying to get the upper hand.

    Jack felt himself blush slightly at Percy's comment, but he gained controll of his emotions. "Are they always like this together?" he asked Annabeth. He brushed his hair out of his eyes, and Annabeth smiled, "Pretty much." she admitted.

    After Alex finally got off Percy (Well, after Annabeth managed to wrestle her off) she sat down by Jack, "So, what's the plan?"

    OOC: I don't know how to get the picture on, but I'll show you later.
    Jack showed her the blueprints, "I even added a design for the wheels. An olive tree amidst a bunch of waves. For Posiadon and Athena, may they bless our fortune. He shrugged, "Horses?" he asked curiously.
