Taryze quickly picked up her bag.
They didn't do anything. Just chased me. That's all.
She was so lieing.
She pulled her jacket up to make sure the bruises were hidden. -
By that comment, Wess didn't like him even more. A guy, who thought of themselves as a hero. That's for the girl to decide. Wess noticed the bruises. "You're not alright." he said. "C'mon. The doctor, is a block away." he said
-
"I'm just walking her home." Derek said.
-
Taryze pushed past them both.
They seemed to be challenging each other, and she didnt want to get in the middle of it.
She started on her way home. -
Derek just stood there.
-
Wess ran after her. "You should be looked at." he said. "Oh, and tomorrow, at school, I'll negotiate, with those guys." he added
-
Derek turned and walked home.
-
Taryze ruffled her hair.
Really, I'm fine.
She turned the corner on to her street. -
When Derek got home, he made some dinner and went to bed.
-
Wess was unsure. "I can take you there." he offered.
-
They came up to her house.
She walked up the driveway.
Seriously. Tarzye is all good ok? -
Wess shrugged. "Alright." there was a little taunt in his voice
-
Tarzye laughed slightly.
By the way. I'm Tarzye if you haven't caught on to that yet. -
"I'm Wess, and I'm glad you're alright." he smiled
-
Taryze smiled and handed him a piece of paper with her number on it.
Call me if you get a chance.
She stepped inside, closing the door behind herself. -
Derek woke up a couple hours later.
-
Wess scanned it. "Score!" he whispered to himself. He walked home, with a gleeful face, and his arms stretched wide
-
Taryze smiled and walked up to her room.
She got out her gutar and began playing Wide Awake by Katy Perry, singing along. -
Wess entered his house. His parents were looking at him, as if he had a seizure. Tanner, his dad, patted him on the back, once he saw the number. "Is it a cheerleader's number?" Tanner asked. "No. It's someone even better." he said.
