    Cora woke up. She stretched and kicked her legs over the side of the bed. How many more days of training? she wondered.

    I pull on a black t-shirt and some knee-high jeans. I dig through my pack and pull out my necklace with an amethyst stone. I decide to keep it in here so that it's safe. I go into the bathroom and brush my long, dark brown hair before putting it into a side ponytail, then go downstairs for breakfast.


    I gorge myself with the amazing capitol foods. How delicious! I look at a dish of small hard, colorful things in wrappers. "Candy." says a guard. My eyes pop open. Candy! That is so rare it is scary! I grab one pink one and pop it in my mouth. What perfectness!.

    Cora gobbled up some buttermilk pancakes, sausage, and bacon. She gulped down some orange juice and filled herself up with some delicious bread budding. The Capitol is so amazing - I wish I lived here, Cora thought, biting into a piece of bacon.


    Never in my life have I had something so delicious. I grab five more pieces of candy and put them on my plate. I eat a pancake, three small sausage links and hot chocolate. Fruit? I see fruit stacked on a platter. I try one of everything. The Capitol has everything you could dream of! I cannot wait for lunch.

    Cora's chocolate brown eyes land on a type of fruit she'd never seen before. It was green, and almost shaped like a star. She took a bite. The flavor was amazing.

    I slip into a black and red training jacket with my District's number on it, then brush my teeth and wait for training to start.

    Fox looked around as she woke up. She ate then slipped into her jacket and pants. She waited, then a buzzer went off, and everyone rushed into the Training Center
