Rose cantered around the lush green fields and flicked her ears at the pure silence of the meadow. She enjoyed her new freedom but felt lonely. The white rose in her mane had already started to wither away. She just wanted a home. But not a place where she was locked up and couldn't run or play. She wanted a herd to be with.

The breeze gently flowed through Thundersong's mane. He looked down at his reflection in the pond and sighed. The gash under his left eye had stopped bleeding. Being a reject horse isn't always fun. Thundersong looked over to the herd he once used to be part of, but they were gone. All that was left was the chewed up grass. Slowly, he made his way down to the beach, and lay there, thinking about a time when he may be a leader of a herd.
-
OOC: Sorry, I forgot to put this on the last post.. but, did you want information/description of Thundersong?
-
Moon a black 2 year old filly walked down to the beach. She saw thundersong.
-
Thundersong heard the soft thudding of hooves. He jumped up, ready for an attack, but, noticed that the young mare did not appear to be a threat. Thundersong nickered at the filly, and trotted torward her. "Hi there! Why aren't you with your herd?"He asked curiously.
-
"They kicked me out." Moon said sadly.
-
Thunderstorm looked down at his black legs and sighed. "Same here.." his voice echoed between the large mountain-like rocks. He dug his hoof into the sand and kicked it backwards. "We could stick together for the sake of protection. This world has some scary creatures lurking these lands." He suggested.
-
""That would be great." Moon said.
-
"Alright." Thundersong scanned the horizon. The sun was setting, and fast. "Come on. The sun is setting, and we need to find shelter. I've seen what has happened here during the night before, and it wasn't pretty. We must move. Quick." He started walking quickly, then broke into a gallop. Right.. toward the mountains.. Once we get passed the dead tree, make a left, and there will be a cave. Stay there for the night. Thundersong thought to himself.
-
"I know where we are going." Moon said galloping. "Me and my mother stayed in that cave once."
-
Thundersong was a bit surprised. His mother had always told him to use the cave in emergencies, being that it is a very secret cave. "Really? My mother and I used to stay in that cave a few times, before we became part of a herd." he said, struggling to see in the night. At the cave entrance, a cluster of trees had started to grow and cover to cave entrance. Thundersong jumped over the trees, ducking his head to avoid the cave ceiling. He trotted a bit further, and waited for Moon to enter.
-
Moon followed tundersong. "I wish my mom hadn't left me." Moon sighed.
-
Rose watched from afar but didn't know whether to approach them or leave. She took a chance and walked forward,"Hello,"she said softly.
-
Thundersong had a sympathetic look in his eyes when Moon had spoken about her mother. He turned his attention to the stranger mare that had approached them. "Hello. Who are you?" he asked, in a rather harsh tone of voice. Thunder cautiously turned to look at Moon, and found her right behind him. He then again turned his attention to Rose. "If you are a stray, please, come in. Danger lurks at night." he said this time, in a more quiet, welcoming voice. Thunder then backed up, found a comfy area in the cave, and fell fast asleep.
-
"What is your name?" Moon asked softly.
-
In a half-sleep half-wake state, he answered,"Thundersong. The filly is Moon. She's not mine, but we're sticking together. We both got kicked out of our herds." He felt comfort knowing he was in a small group of horses. "The flower in your hair.. A human put it there.. Have you run away?"
-
"Is your name rose?" Moon asked.
-
Thundersong allowed the young mares to carry on with their convorsation. He listened for a while, and slowly drifted off to sleep. He imagined himself sticking with Moon and Rose, and being a happy group of horses, living their lives happy and free.
-
Rose nodded,"I lived in a horrile home but the little girl that had taken care of me died of an unknown sickness. After that I was given to a mean man who worked everyone one us until our bones ached. So I jumped the fence and ran until I got tired. The only thing I have left from the little girl is this white rose,
"she explained."It's nice to meet some real wild horses who are nice." -
"Wow. Well i am only 2 years old." Moon said.
