Chromepaw leaped forward, swiftly killing a rabbit. He smiled, dragging the chubby puffball back to Rippleshine.

Oceanpaw smiled, "Okay!" She replied.

"Now then, lets run over the basics for hunting. You must be very careful of your surroundings for a start, beware of leaves and twigs that would give you away. Also water can give you up if you step in a puddle. Remember, light paw steps, tail low but not touching the ground and keep your breathing steady." Timestar spoke as he slipped into a hunters crouch.

Oceanpaw nodded as she copied Timestar, "light paw steps, tail low but not touching the ground, keep breathing steady." She muttered to her self as she copied him.

"Very good, now lets see you stalk this leaf." Timestar set a copper coloured leaf down and waited to see Oceanpaw put her skills into practice.

Oceanpaw lowered herself to the ground, and evenly spread her weight onto her four paws. She lowered her tail and took a few steps forward, her pads almost making no noise.

Timestar nodded in approval. "When you pounce on the prey make sure to sink your claws in so it can't escape your grip then deliver a swift bite to the neck or spine."

Oceanpaw nodded and did exactly what he said, she pounced onto the leaf and sunk her claws in.

"Very good, now lets find you some real prey to try your skills out on." Timestar chuckled.

Chromepaw dropped the plump rabbit at Rippleshine$s paws with a smile.

Oceanpaw smiled, she couldn't wait to try out hunting for real.

Timestar decided to try closer to the cabins where the twolegs lived. The pine forest would be rich with mice.

Oceanpaw smiled and padded alongside Timestar.

Timestar stopped and sniffed the air. "Can you smell that?" He could clearly detect the whiff of mice.

Oceanpaw nodded, sniffing the air, "Yes, I can smell that some mice are nearby." She replied.

"Try stalking one down." Timestar purred.

Oceanpaw nodded, and crouched down on the ground, she followed the scent of a mouse nearby and stalked it. She then pounced and sunk her claws in, after that, she bit into it's neck and brought it to Timestar.

"Very good, you're a natural hunter." Timestar purred as he praised Oceanpaw.
