    Iceflare led them to camp. It was little after sunhigh when they returned.

    Rapidstrike looked up as his clanmates returned to camp. He had just got back from the EverLake, which was a huge expance of water many moons walk away. He had had an idea to increase the camp's water supply by digging a long, shallow trench for the water to be able to easily pass from the EverLake into the camp's water. It had worked perfectly.


    OOC: a few things i forgot to mention in the RPsignup thread: Rapidstrike is very intelligent, but he can be a little full of himself at times, and is very sarcastic.

    Trenchstar entered camp and padded over to his brother, seeing he had returned. He realised that Rapidstrike would not know of Shadestar's death, and he would most likely refer to him as Trenchfall.


    "Hello brother, did you succeed in your mission?" He asked casually.

    "Well, actually...Shadestar has joined StarClan..." Trenchstar started.

    "this is terrible news! I should have come home earlier. Whoever has been leading the clan in my place should know that my father promised me the clan, and since i have returned, i can start my duties.

    "Well, I bring bad news for you, my brother. I have taken over ApocalypseClan, as was our fathers death wish" Trenchstar meowed.

    "WHAT?!" hissed Rapidstrike. "our father told me I was to be leader! Im older! Apocolypseclan is MINE!"

    Trenchstar unsheathed his claws. "And whilst you were gone, he gave it to me, I don't care if you are older brother, and I will fight you if I must" he spat.

    "No. I will not fight my baby brother. If our father wished you to be the leader instead of me, then i honour his decision. But i will never forget what you stole from me!" and with a hiss, he turned his back on his leader, and stalked into the desert.

    Trenchstar rolled his eyes and padded into his den.

    Whilst in the desert, Rapidstrike got to thinking. He and his brother had had this unshakable bond, Trenchfall didnt even seem to mind it when their father named him the new leader. But what he couldnt put his claw on, was why did their father change his mind?

    Sunshade padded out of the Medicine Cat den, a strange scent lingering in the air. He looked around, but everything seemed normal at the moment. He flicked his ear with confusion, before heading for the fresh-kill pile.

    Trenchstar padded out of his den and gave Sunshade a cheery wave with his tail.

    Rapidstrike settled under a tree, and slipped into a light sleep. When he opened his eyes, he saw his father standing infront of him. He leaped to his paws and hissed "how dare you show your face after what you did to me?" His father looked at him camly and said, "dont blame me, blame your evil excuse for a mother." Rapidstrike looked at him in astonishment. "what do you mean?" His father simply pointed his tail at two cats walking up to him, tails entwined. It was his mother! With a tom he had never seen before, but looked exactly like him. "no!" Rapidstrike whispered quietly. "no...it cant be...no..." Before waking up, the sun just setting in the sky.

    Trenchstar took a magpie from the pile.

    Rapidstrike sprinted into the camp and ran straight up to his brother. "did you know?!" he demanded. "did you know?!"

    Trenchstar looks baffled. "Know what?" He meowed.
