  • Snowypaw sat by the north-western corner of ThunderClan territory, staring across at WindClan, wondering. She sighed, her blue eyes clouded with confusion, sadness, and longing. She stood up and shook out her white pelt, pushing her thoughts from her head knowing she should stop thinking about it.

  • The new apprentice walked out of camp, leisure matching her step. Freedompaw was her name now, and the daughter of Wrathstar proudly walked out of camp, proud that she was an apprentice. Spotting Snowypaw looking wistfully across the border, she frowned. "You okay?"

  • Snowypaw blinked, hearing another clanmate's voice. She nodded and turned to face Freedompaw. "Yeah.... just fine," she mewed, not wanting to drag anyone else into her miserable thoughts.

  • Freedompaw sat next to Snowypaw, "Tell me what's wrong," she meowed serenely, green eyes glittering with concern. "Something seems to be the problem."

  • Snowypaw's ears flickered, "I don't want to drag you down with my problems," she mewed, 'I insist, it's fine." She smiled faintly, amazed by her denmate's kindness.

  • "No, you can tell me," Freedompaw meowed. "I want to make sure everyone gets treated the way they should, and everyone should be entitled to a fair treatment; in this case, I'm listening." she meowed, her name coming into use.

  • Snowypaw sighed, knowing it was no use to argue. "Fine. I was staring at WindClan," she meowed, "Because my brother, Sandpaw, and my sisters, Windpaw and Wishpaw, live in WindClan." Her tail twitched, "That is all I was thinking about."

  • Freedompaw laid her tail on Snowypaw's shoulder, "Oh, okay." she meowed, the words having much more feeling to them than it seemed. She didn't merit any further comment, not wanting to hurt Snowypaw's feelings or anything.

  • Snowypaw shrugged, "Told you it wasn't worth discussing," she meowed. She frowned, "Kinda lame huh? My siblings and I get to kill one another." She gave a sorrowful, lonely laugh.

  • "No. It's not lame." Freedompaw meowed. "It's conflicting." Her tone was dead serious. "Just don't come in contact with them at all." she meowed. "Just don't."

  • "As if I'd be able to help it," Snowypaw meowed, not trying to argue but trying to make a point. "If I am ordered into battle at anytime and we come face to face, we can't just run off, we'll be depended on by clanmates."

  • "I'll be there," Freedompaw promised. "So we'll find a way. I promise." she meowed, flicking her white tail and lowering it down to her dainty white paws. Her green eyes were dead serious.

"So, on a more upbeat note, what do you want to do?" Freedompaw asked.

  • "Do you want to go by the RiverClan border?" Freedompaw suggested.

  • Since Freedompaw just was made an apprentice, she didn't know any fundamentals. She padded toward the RiverClan border; where she heard the river bubbling.

  • Freedompaw paused at the river's edge, closing her eyes in dizzying gratitude, Thank you, StarClan. I don't know how to hunt, fight, or navigate around the territory but at least I find the RiverClan border!
