Trapped Shifters (Jump right in)

    Carrie sat in her cage staring at the white plaster ceiling. She stretched in her small 5 ft by 5 ft cage. Being small for her age (13) she could easily stretch the width of the metal cage. Bored, she picked at the metal bracelet on her wrist. The bracelet prevented her from Shifting. Shifting. Carrie sighed thinking about how nice it would be to shift again and run free in the wild once again. Her thoughts were interupted by two men brining in another cage. Carrie sat up and tried to spot who the new person was.

    OOC- Hehe.... ever heard of Fruits Basket?


    IC- Kyo was unconscious, having been sedated not long ago. Bruises showed that he had struggled before he had been sedated, as the men set down the cage.

    OOC: Huh?


    The men left the room silently. Carrie leaned as far as she could up agaisnt the cage since it was nailed to the ground. She could tell it was a boy. Carrie looked around the cage and finding nothing else she pulled a black button off her jacket and chucked it at the boy's face. He groaned but did not stir. Carrie sighed and leaned back against her cage hoping he would wake up soon.

    OOC- OMG wut??? You don't know what FB is? Well, long story short, Kyo transforms into an orange cat (color of his hair) when his torso touches a girl's torso (human or creature). When he changes back, he's naked, but his clothes are wherever he first shifted. He's from Fruits Basket- one of the greatest animes EVAH!


    IC- Kyo's eyes opened slowly after a few more minutes, and he looked around in confusion as his mind slowly woke up. Eyes widening as he realized where he was, memories flooded back and he kicked against the metal bars of the cage as hard as he could, but he stopped, flinching, as he felt the aftereffects of the bruises, a pissed off look on his face.

    OOC: Ok then.... never heard of it. is that what your character is?


    Carrie felt a pang of sympathy for him. "Don't bother, it's no use." She held up her scarred knuckles for him to see. "Believe me, I've tried."

    ( ^-^ ..yes)


    Kyo started as he heard a voice, glaring in the direction of the voice. He only relaxed slightly when he saw she was in a cage as well, but he was still suspicious. He saw her scarred knuckles, and rubbed a bruise on his arm subconsciously.


    "Da**… so where the he** are we?" he asked, his pissed off state clear in his voice as he looked around, trying to get a grip on things.

    "In a test lab." Carrie said casually. "I've been here for about a year and a month. There's a fenced-in area with an electric fence outside. Were let out there for about ten minutes every other day." Carrie stated remembering her first day in the lab. "So are you know, a Shifter?" she said looking at him curiously.

    Kyo looked away.


    "Well.. yes. I change into a cat, but, uh, only when a girl bumps into me." He spoke again before she could respond, annoyance in his voice. "Weird, I know, but I was born with it."

    "Um, that's nice. Is that why you don't wear a bracelet? The stupid metal bracelets keep us from shifting. I can shift into a bird. Any bird, I just think of what kind and I transform into it." Carrie sighed thinking of stretching her wings free and flying away through the sky. "The scientists take tests on us to try to figure out how and why we can shift. So far the've had no luck."

    Kyo punched the cage in frustration.


    "Why the he** can't they just leave us alone?!" he yelled, venting his frustration.

    Before Carrie could respond, two scientists in white coats entered the room. The first one had a zip-lock bag in his hand. He opened it and took out two syringes. He handed one to the other man and approached Kyo while the other approached Carrie.

    Kyo saw the syringes, and he backed away from the scientists to the other end of the cage, lips drawn back in a vicious snarl, showing his unnaturally sharp teeth.


    "Stay the he** away from me!" he snarled, eyes narrowed in fury.

    The scientist rolled his eyes. "Just calm down kid. Were tryin' to help here! Just come 'ere and this wont hurt anymore then it has to." He said to him.



    Carrie backed up to the edge of her cage. Her eyes narrowed and she clenched her hands into tight balls. The scientist calmly walked over to her and reached over to inject the needle. Carrie struck her hand out and clawed his face with her long nails. The man screamed and clutched at his bleeding cheek. The other scientist glanced over and saw him crumple to the ground in pain.

    Kyo glared at the scientist, and as he looked away, Kyo kicked out, aiming to trip him. If he just had keys on him... then again, if they didn't, this might be a mistake..

    The scientist fell down on his face from Kyo's leg. A black wallet slipped out of his pocket and he didn't notice. He ran over to his friend yowling in pain and helped him up. With one last glare they left the room.


    When their footsteps echoed down the hallway Carrie unfolded herself from the corner. She carefully reached over and picked up the syringe the man had dropped. It had a protective cap on it so someone wouldn't accidently prick themselves. Carrie looked at it and gently put it in her pocket. "For further uses." she grinned. Then she noticed the wallet about a foot from Kyo's cage. She looked up at him.

    Kyo moved to the front of the cage, reaching his arm out to get the black wallet. He stretched his arm until he finally touched it, getting a grip on it and pulling it towards him. He got it through the bars and opened it.


    (What would be in itt?)

    ooc: no clue. make something up?


    Carrie leaned against the bars once again, to see what was in the wallet. "Well? What's in it?" she said in an urgant voice."The scientists could be coming back soon."

    (Hm.. I have an idea. But only if we can say the place is pretty high-tech.. y'know, scanners instead of locks on the cages...)


    Kyo went through it, ignoring the girl's question. Several random articles, such as an I.D. and some money, fell from it before he smirked victoriously.


    "Bingo." he said mostlly to himself, pulling out a partially-translucent white card (credit-card style card). He dropped the wallet, not caring about it anymore, and moved to the door of his cage. He reached out his arm, holding the card, and held it in front of a small blue screen. It scanned the card, and with a satisfying click, the door popped. Pushing it open, Kyo stood up, fonally stretching from the slightly cramped space, a cocky grin on his face.


    (Two things- Firstly, I forgot to say, but Kyo's 15. Secondly, what if the scientists came in as he was helping her out of her cage? Idk, just an idea)
