    Adriane nodded. "Okay then. I guess I'll let sleeping dogs lie," she said, raising an eyebrow. She highly doubted those were the only reasons they were in the area, but there was no reason to push complete strangers to trust each other so quickly. "Well, I'm sure we can set up camp somewhere out here. That, or we could always try an inn in town."

    Bram sighed and shook his head. He looked over the banister to see Carissima meandering around and grinned. He slid down the banister gracefully and skidded across the floor to her side. "Hello there miss," he said, rubbing his arm painfully, "How are you this lovely day?"


    Adriane shrugged. "It's nothing special, but I could show you around. If you feel more comfortable, we can just stay here," she said, picking at her nails.
