  • "SilverCloud! Are you-" DuskStar was cut short by a current. She raked her long claws across the rock, but the water dragged her off, and she was, once again, swallowed by waves.

  • "okay okay.breath and "he dived down and his paws turned red.he found her and pulled her up to the surface of the water"i got you.i got you"

  • She tried to help him, but she choked and fell limp. The water dragged at her fur, pulling her down, while SilverCloud struggled to pull her up.

  • "so close to the side"he got to the side of the river"too heavy"he dropped her.he looked stright foward and got wide eyed."well"he coughed up some blood.he fell lifeless

  • She could scent blood, but couldn't force her eyes open. Her pelt grew starry, and soon the was back in a starry clearing with her sister, SnowDream. "You have lost a life, my sister." The pure white she-cat meowed calmly. ''You now have six lives left. I can't keep you here for long; your warrior needs you." DuskStar nodded, and her starry pelt vanished.
DuskStar opened her eyes slowly. The scent of blood was overwhelmingly strong, and she had to hold her breath, to keep from blacking out again. "SilverCloud!" she gasped, when she saw the lifeless body of the silver warrior laying beside her. She rose shakily to her paws, and picked him up by the scruff. She found an easy way out of the gorge, and drug him up to the top. she pulled him back to camp, and once she was in the clearing, she dropped him, and fell down beside him, panting with effort. Her amber gaze burned into his soaked pelt.

  • DuskStar jumped. "Great StarClan, you scared me!" she mewed. Her amber eyes flickered away from him. "You should go see the medicine cat." she muttered, not looking at him again.

  • DuskStar growled, but didn't have enough energy to protest out loud. "Hello." KestrelFlight, the medicine cat, greeted them at the entrance to the den. "Is there anything I can do for you?" the young tomcat meowed.

  • "Why yes, it turns out that I do." he meowed. "Come in and let me examine her." he mewed. He pulled DuskStar inside, and turned to SilverCloud. "You wait here." he instructed.

  • "Come with me." he replied. He backed into the den, and crept over to the nest where DuskStar lay asleep. "Havn't you noticed?" KestrelFlight murmered. He nudged DuskStar's shoulder so she was flipped over, laying on her back, belly up.
