  • Elizabeth walked a different way and saw the group of people, she quietly backed up.

  • Bella looked up and spotted Elizabeth backing away. She nudged Blake.

  • Elizabeth made eye contact with Bella and squeezed her bow hard and was frozen.

  • Veronica's arrow shoots through one of my glass cups, but I manage to dodge so the weapon doesn't hit me. I narrow my eyes. I don't want to do this, but I have to. I wonder for a moment what I should do. There may be some weapons in my bag, but in this situation, I don't have time to get them. I don't even know for sure if there are any in the backpack. There are only two things I can get to quickly -- the remaining glass cup, and my wooden spear. The glass cup! I throw the glass cup at Veronica, hoping it will do enough damage so I can get away.

  • Veronica-
The glass cup whacked me in the side of the arm, and I slammed it to the ground. Wait. That girl was from my district... oh no... I broke my promise to myself. I had sworn to help protect them. I shrugged it off, loosened my muscles, and started charging after the little girl. Little girls weren't made to live in arenas. They were meant to die. I already had a child, let alone a husband, sister, and a giant family. My mother made me marry and have kids. She thought if I got reaped that they would show mercy. She thought wrong. I felt like I needed to get on with life then. Now, I needed to survive. And, now that I think about it, I didn't actually want a child and a husband. I didn't love my husband, and my child was a giant mistake. The child's father is now an Avox.
My sister, Anica, would be waiting. I didn't like my husband, and Anica purely loathed him. She would get mad at him and throw a knife next to his ear whenever he complained about her cooking. I liked her cooking. As I look back on my life, I realized that it sucked. I wasn't living life the fullest. I was cowering in the shadow of the Capitol when they took over. and trying not to be noticed. Now, I wanted to be noticed.

A camera came out of a tree, leaning toward me. I gave it the middle finger and kept running, and laughing.

  • Elizabeth saw the girl grab her bow and quickly grabbed her arrow and shot it at Bella, half hoping it DIDN'T hit her, then ran quickly away.

Jacob climbed a tree, hopefully far from the others and sat there.

  • Bella saw the arrow flying towards her and ducked just in time. The arrow planted itself into a spot behind her in a tree, the spot where her head had been just a moment earlier.

  • Elizabeth ran and ran, she knew if Bella wouldn't have ducked she would have killed her..the thought frightened her.

  • Bella stood up and took the arrow out of the tree. "That was close."
