Luna's Cavern
We are not clan. We are not tribe. We are a Kingdom; an all mighty Empire! We are the cats of Luna’s Cavern. Have you come to join us? Let me explain before you say yes or no.
~Culture: We live in undiscovered Roman ruins of a great city, or once great as some might say. However, it will be mighty once again! The city has many different locations including a nursery, priestess’s temple, Soldiers’ Den, She-Cats’ Den, Family Dens, the Market Place, and the castle. (Religion will be explained further down.)
Dens
~Nursery- She-cats who are with kits live here temporarily. This is so the priestess can keep an eye on them and so they have a more comfortable place to stay. They move back into their own Family Den when the kits are three months old.
~Priestess’s Temple (Also Luna’s Temple) - This is the old temple of the Roman goddess Luna which is still fairly intact. The priestess lives here and also conducts ceremonies here as well. The main features are the goddess Luna’s statue and a body of water.
~Soldiers’ Den- This is where unmarried toms above eleven moons live. It is located in front of the castle where the royal family and status live.
~She-Cats’ Den- This is where single she-cats of nine moons or older live. It is located near the Market Place for easy access to trade.
~Family Dens- These dens also border the Market Place. Each den is a separate room for each married couple.
~Market Place- This is where she-cats trade items for other items. They gather these throughout the territory and the ruins. They can vary from fresh-kill to valuable gems.
~ Castle- This is where the entire royal family lives. It is where the Emperor, Empress, the Emperor’s Wives, the Generals, the Emperor’s Children, and the royal family’s slaves all live.
Roles
~Priestess- This she-cat has roles similar to a medicine-cat except a couple of extra ones. She heals with herbs (DUH!) and cannot take a mate. She also conducts ceremonies which include marriage, death, full-soldier, prayers, ect. She remains a priestess until she dies. When she does, her student takes over.
~She-cats- They are hunting or collecting items, if they aren’t pregnant. They are expected to be married at nine to ten moons old. They must have at least one litter of kits before the age of thirteen moons. After that, they can have more litters or find items of value throughout the ruins for trade. They teach their she-cat daughters their trading skills.
~Soldiers- These are ALL TOMS! They are trained to hunt and fight, by their father, for their Empire and families. They started learning at four moons old. When they are a full Soldier, decided by their mentor, they have a ceremony at the Temple of Luna.
~Emperor- He is expected to have one Empress, but he can have many wives. He must make all the decisions of the Empire, but can have assistance from his Generals of Empress. He must teach all of his sons hunting and battle skills as well as the ways to rule an Empire. This is in case they fight to the death over the throne.
~Empress- She is expected to be chosen by the Emperor to be his main wife. She can be the daughter of a General or a common she-cat. She must have at least three litters of kits that will contain heirs for the throne. She may influence the Emperor’s decisions but make none herself. She can participate in trade, but usually the slaves do that job for her.
~Emperor’s Wives- These are all lower ranking wives than the Empress, but still fairly high in class. They can have as many litters as they want; however, their toms shall not become Generals or Emperor. They will become high ranking Soldiers, and that it all. The wives can teach their daughters or have the slaves do that, but the sons will be taught by a tom in the Soldiers’ Den who has no kits. They have their own separate den.
~ Empress’s Children (Males) - They must learn the ways of ruling a kingdom as well as hunting and battle skills. Those not becoming Emperor will command the military as a General through the Emperor’s orders. Some generations have a habit of killing each other over the throne.
~Empress’s Children (Females) - They are taught the proper etiquette of a lady. They must learn hunting techniques, but no battle moves. They are also taught the value of items for trading. Unlike other she-cats, they have arranged marriages through their parents.
~Generals- These are brothers to the Emperor who have accepted their high class as a commander in the military. They command the military through the Emperor’s orders and train the Soldiers and examine the young soldiers in the making. They live in the castle.
~Slaves- There can be slaves of war that can be purchased through a Soldier. This is the ONLY thing that a Soldier can sell. They are to do whatever their owner tells them to. They can assist a Soldier or a she-cat with their duties. They live in the Family Den.
~Religion- These cats worship the Roman Deities. They believe that, like the human descendants, their gods are human because the human descendants were all powerful. They believe that the goddess Luna of the Moon watches over their empire. When in a time of need, they will go to her temple and leave an offering and a prayer. The priestess is generally always there to assist. Offering include fresh-kill and valuable items. There are NO SACRAFICES!
