    Kingstar looked down. "Flamekit, I will give you your mentor. "You are now Flamepaw, and your mentor is Badgerslash," he announced.


    Badgerslash looked down on her apprentice and touched noses with him.

    Flamepaw touched noses with her. His paws tingling with excitement. When the clan meeting was over. He asked,"What are we going to do first?"

    "Let's go around the territory," she decided, leading the way out of camp.

    Badgerslash led him through the trees to where a tree taller than the rest rose up. "This is the Moon Tree. The elders say that they climbed up there and touched the moon," she said. "Lots of different types of prey come around here."
