    "...Er..." Squeaker wasn't used to making decisions for himself, much less others. But he decided to go with a joint consensus. "Er...what would uh, everyone prefer?" Honestly, his greatest fear wasn't even the distance, it was alligators, but he didn't know that it was the distance that was more dangerous in this case.

    Senai peered over at the water. "I think we should go all at the same time. In case one of us finds it hard the others can help that panther out." she mewed thoughtfully. She looked back over her shoulder. "What if he cant find me? What if i never see him again?"she mewed mostly to herself. She thought about her mate everyday but would he be able to find her if she swam across the river?

    "Right!" Squeaker had been thinking along the same lines, and to hear that someone else had also thought this, made him feel smarter, for some reason. "Right...er...m..." He stepped right down to the edge of the water and carefully looked among the lily pads. He was looking for any bubbles, or other signs of alligators lurking just under the surface.

    Senai copied Squeaker. She saw no bubbles. She dipped her paw into the water. "Brrr!"she mewed. "that was freezing! Can i go in first?" she asked.

    ooc: It wouldn't be that cold. Cool maybe, but this IS south Florida. :)


    ic: Squeaker waded in, deciding to be the 'brave' one and take his chances. He had been watching the water for a while, and had seen no alligator giveaway signs. "Well...here we go....m..."

    OOC: okay...


    IC: Senai followed Squeaker in. She started to swim across the water slowly. "You coming?" she mewed back to Squeaker.

    OOC: *nods*


    IC: Senai looked back and stopped for a moment. "Okay. We'll wait."She glanced down at the water and started to drink. Floating wasn't the easiest thing to do.

    Honey padded up to the water and waded in. "this is ging to be fun!" she meowed letting the water run throughbthe fur

    OOC: Sorry Guys! >.<

    Aluna made a face, suddenly panicking. She knew this was coming, and she couldn't quite recall why she hadn't told him yet, but Aluna had only swan across small streams and little rivers. never something this big, or with a current. She began chewing on her lip before she took a step forward. Followed by another. And another, untill she had all of her paws in th water.


    She unsheathed her claws and pushed down on her back legs, then srang off the rock she was standing on and plunged further into the river. She swam and Squeaker, trying desperately to stay with him. The current pulled and tugged at her, forcing her to be dragged to the side more than she had liked.

    ooc: Current's pretty gentle. It's the distance that will be hard.



    ic: "This way! Hang on if you're having issues." Squeaker could tell at once that Aluna was not an expert swimmer. He swam over to her to help her correct her direction.

    Senai swam up the other side of Aluna. "Don't worry. You'll be fine Aluna. Just paddle with your paws... slowly not too fast or you will tire yourself out." she mewed. Helping support Squeakers mate.

    "Just keep swimming all close together...if one starts to sink...yeah." Squeaker kept alongside Aluna and paddled gracefully on...he glanced behind them and the bank was receding fast.

    Senai followed Squeaker and the rest of the group. "Again. I thank you for allowing me to join your group. We will be best of friends." She panted.

    "yes...m...if we live," said Squeaker as a faint mental panic began to buzz in the back of his brain. "Nobody..ever swam the Great River...and returned to tell about it..."

    Aluna took a deep breath and followed the she-cat's directions. "Slow..." She thought, only seconds after laughing weakly at herself. "We'll make it through." She promised. "I'm not going to lose all the progress we made. I've always wanted a family and I'm not going to give it up." Her voice was soft, a whisper infact. She stole a glance at her mate, thenlooked forward, trying not to be afraid of the distance.

    "..Mm....me either."


    Squeaker paced himself, paddling slowly but surely and trying to conserve his energy. Cats were good swimmers; they just didn't normally swim large wide rivers like this. Soon they were out there in the middle of the river and he was just grateful no alligators had gotten them. If alligators were going to get you it was usually in the shallow water, so they were safe now. But he was nervous too--they were in the middle now so going back would be no easier than going forward.

    Senai nodded and licked Aluna. "Don't be so worried. We WILL make it across. We are already half way there!" she paddled over to Honey. "This is great!" she whispered. and started to paddle even further.
