  • [font=georgia]Okay. I'll try.

    Red tabby x black
females: tortie, torbie, dilute tortie, dilute torbie
males: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby

  • So, so close xD
No torbies or tabbies. Even though the red base is tabbies [it always is] the black base is not xD Otherwise great job 8D

  • Okay. I'll try.

    Red tabby x black

males: black, brown tabby, blue, blue tabby

[font=georgia]May I ask what is a dilute or torbies?

  • [align=center][font=georgia]dilute means the blue form of something while a torbie is a tortie with stripes x]

  • [align=center][font=georgia]I'll give you a simple one~

    blue x lilac tabby

  • Female:
    dilute tortie, blue, lilac?

    Male:
    blue, blue dense?
    dieing!

  • [align=center][font=georgia]you only use the word dilute for anything other than solids or tabbies. if you have solid blue it wont be called dilute; it'll be called dilute x] and dont worry about dense and stuff, that really isnt needed. oh and you only need to put males and females in seperate things if you cross a red and black base so then youd get some tortie females but no tortie males.

    blue x lilac tabby
blue, blue tabby, lilac, lilac tabby

see we only get dilutes cause there is no undilute in the equation =]

  • [align=center][font=georgia]well we have lilac tabby. two solids cannot produce a tabby in anyway, two tabbies can have tabbied kits and solid kits and one tabby parent and a solid parent cross can have tabbies and solids. eg;

    blue x lilac
    blue, lilac

    blue tabby x lilac
blue, blue tabby, lilac, lilac tabby

    blue tabby x lilac tabby
blue, blue tabby, lilac, lilac tabby

  • Yes, a simpler way to explain it would be that tabby is a dominant gene and all tabbies are assumed to carry solid. If you like punnett squares:

    Solid x Solid:

    t t
    t tt tt

    t tt tt- all solid.

    Tabby x Solid:

    t t
    T Tt Tt

t tt tt- half tabby, half solid.

    Tabby x Tabby:

    T t
    T TT Tt

    t Tt tt- three-quarters tabby, one-quarter solid.

  • [font=georgia]Oh. Give me another simpler one, :)
