• "Which one looks gray?" Eastpaw asked glancing around, "Hopekit? Which one Orchidpaw? And you know. Like me... " She shrugged, how did she describe it.

ooc: she still doesnt know Orchidblood has had her warrior ceremony XP Or does she.. i dont remember if we covered that XD

  • ooc: Nope :P

ic: "That one, Hopekit...kind of a lot of different shades of grey, with some stripes on her legs and her tail," said Orchidblood. "A little bit of stripes...they're really beautiful. Congrats! You're a mum. Oh--my name's Orchidblood now."

  •
The freshly named Letterkit squirmed among his many siblings. The cinnamon ticked tom wiggled his way free of the other kits and eventually found his mother's belly, where he began to suckle hungrily.

  • Eastpaw nodded, Hopekit was a pretty one. She leaned over and licked the silvery kitten. She paused and looked over at Orchidpaw- er blood now. "OrchidBLOOD?" she asked. "Your a w-warrior n-now?" She pulled her wandering kits back against her.

  • Orchidblood laughed, a little. "Yeah. I'm a warrior now. They thought I did a good job in the war. I got my name when I went out to watch my uncle and aunt's naming. I missed that, but then they called me up."

  • "Im sorry you missed it.. You missed it cuz i had you in here," Eastpaw sighed. "You being warrior status wont mean anything right? Youll still be friends with me?.."

  • Eastpaw smiled, "good.." she mrrowed, then gasped. At the kit that was shoving itself blindly against Orchidblood.

Echokit had again wandered away from her mother. Being blind she couldnt see where she was going. The fawn ticked kit stumbled into Orchidblood, and struggled against her.

  • "Aww, what a cute baby!" Orchidblood sniffed the kit and let her push blindly up against her. "Hey little baby. I have no milk. You want milk? Here." Like an expert, she picked the kit up and placed her back by her mother's teats. "Let's make sure you get all teh food you want so you have enough milk for them all."

  • Eastpaw watched Orchidblood take care of the kit swiftly and gently. Almost like a father would. Well a loving father. She smiled as she watched, and blushed lightly under her fur. Could Orchidblood always be there? Eastpaw hoped so. And with Orchidblood's mew of food, Eastpaw realized, she was starving! The last time she had actually eaten was wayy back near Bloodclan. "Im really hungry.. " she meowed to Orchidblood. She bent down to nuzzle Echokit. Echokit was going to be a handful. She was simply darling though.

  •
The large brown tabby tom had seen some of the others leave from the den. He figured it had probably quieted down, and he didn't care if he went in and Eastpaw was asleep. With the plumpest vole he could find on the fresh-kill pile, he came in to visit the only patient he had any desire to see now. His turquoise eyes grew bright with alarm as he noticed how many kits were squirming around Eastpaw. Holy crow, he thought with surprise.

Hawktalon set down the vole near Eastpaw's head so she didn't have to get up for it. He was careful not to step on any of the kits while doing such. Stepping back, he gazed fondly at the kits, as if they were his own. Turning to Orchidblood, he dipped his head in greeting. "Hello, Orchidblood." He said but his turquoise eyes fell back on Eastpaw and her kits. "Hello, Eastpaw. How are you feeling?"

  • "Eight," Eastpaw corrected, remembering the tomkit that hadn't made it. Her gray eyes teared up and she forgot about Hawktalon being there and the food he brought her. She began to cry about the kit she had lost. Her body shook with tears and tiredness and slight pain. After all, she was still injured. Oh, and sick. She began to cough again. Why it was attacking her, she didn't understand why. Perhaps it always attacked her when she was her weakest.

  •
Hawktalon felt his throat tighten at the thought of the stillborn tomkit, even though he hadn't seen it. Kits didn't deserve to die - unworthy warriors did! He bent down to nuzzle one or two of the kits, wondering if they would even remember that they had had an eighth brother. Probably not, but kits remembered mysterious and obscure things. "I'm sorry, Eastpaw." He said in a soft voice, touching his nose to hers. He meant it for all sorts of things - he was sorry for her dead kit, he was sorry for the things he had said, and he was sorry for ever hurting her. He just hoped she'd understand.

  • Eastpaw was going to answer Orchidblood, when Hawktalon's nose touched her wet, pink one. It sent shivers down her and she blushed under her light-brown, ticked fur. She smiled at the new warrior tom. "Thank you!" She nuzzled him gently, purring lightly. She accepted his apology. After all. She had never truly ever been angry with him.

She looked at Orchidblood, her eyes glowing, instead of crying like they had been only seconds before. "Yes... Id like that," she purred to Orchidblood. Her eyes locking with her friend's.

  • Eastpaw purred and pulled out the freshkill Hawktalon brought. "Thanks for your thoughtfullness Orchidblood. But Hawktalon brought me something already." She looked at Lostpaw, trying to think of something for her friend to do. She could tell the other she-cat was restless. "Uhm.."

  • Orchidblood smiled. "Well all right, I'm going to get back to my family for a little while but I'll be back soon, okay?"
