Eastpaw felt a shudder, apparently she wasn't done. A cinnamon ticked tabby came out, followed by a blue ticked tabby, another cinnamon ticked tabby. And a couple seconds later out came a brown ticked tabby, and finally another fawn ticked tabby.
Eastpaw needs some help.

"Oh my goodness..." The kits just kept coming out of her...and they were considerably smaller than the newborns she remembered her own family having. Orchidblood acted as a midwife, helping groom them and get them started in the world. But she was trembling a little, very worried. "Ambrosia? They look kind of small."
ooc: That'd be because she was carrying so many.
-
The brown ticked tabby squirmed for a bit, before finding himself a niche to squeeze into. The unnamed kit let out a purr of happiness and began to suckle hungrily.
-
ooc: One more! for dramatics X3
ic: Eastpaw hissed in pain, apparently there was one more kit, but was it stuck or something? It wasnt coming out. Perhaps it was coming out backwards!
-
"What...what now?" Orchidblood couldn't imagine there were any more kits in there. How could there be? There were already seven out here! "Eastpaw is there another one?"
-
Eastpaw's breathing was frantic, and it was getting hard. She nodded at Orchidblood. "Y-yes..." she managed. It was hurtingggggg! Why was this one giving her so much trouble?
-
"You can do it," said Orchidblood, glancing back at her hind area to see if the kit was out yet. "I know you're tired but you can't give up. I'm sure it's the last one." Even if it wasn't maybe it would give her more motivation if she thought it was.
-
Eastpaw pushed, then broke into a coughing fit as she let out the final kit. Coughing she asked - since she couldnt really move to see the final kit - "What gender is the final kit?" she asked.
ooc: idc which gender xP Just notice its dead >< Stillborn DX
-
With the movement from the older cats, the brown ticked tabby squirmed. She squirmed against Eastpaw's side, as if asking for the movement to stop.
-
Eastpaw smiled and purred very quietly. She used her paw to press her little kit against her. She tried to look around, what were all her kits doing?
The she-cat fawn ticked tabby was squirming around, getting away, but not on purpose.
-
Orchidblood nudged the last kit. It didn't move. "Oh no." She tried grooming it to get it to move. Maybe it was just a little disoriented. Sometimes a freshborn kit needed a few moments before motion kicked in.
ooc: Okay time to wait for Chris. Ambrosiaflare needs to get something to say in here.
-
Lostpaw startled from her spot when Eastpaw went into labor. The chocolate she-cat watched in horror as kit after kit arrived in the world, and her friend struggled. When it was finally over, there was one dead body...A very small loss, in Lostpaw's mind. Look at all those kits! "Eastpaw! Are you okay?"
-
(OOC| Thanks Wynn... Ambrosia has pretty much been reduced to a bystander at this point which means I have to make an excuse...))
Ambrosiaflare, against her better wishes had to duck out to handle one of the many minor emergencies that cropped up as part of her job. She returned now with a smudge of blood on one cream-shaded shoulder, which she couldn't take the time to clean away. She wasted no time and seeing to Eastpaw and kits, checking first the new mother then the kits one at a time, nudging each very lightly, licking them once or twice, and checking their responses. A few's breathing worried her, and they were very small, but miraculously, only one had lost the struggle. It was amazing considering how many kits she was carrying and how much stress she'd gone through. She rasped her tongue over the chest of one until she was satisfied the breaths were more even. "Eastpaw how are you feeling? Let me get you some borage to help your milk come."
-
"Ambrosia! There you are. Her kits, how are they? Are they going to make it? They're kind of small," said Orchidblood.
-
The slim seal point slipped between them to fetch then deposit a mouthful of herbs in front of Eastpaw, unable to answer until her jaws parted to let go of the borage leaves. "They seem strong for their age. They will need constant watch and warmth though - they will only have the strength to feed for short times, an so they will wake up more often."
-
"Long as they're okay..." Orchidblood sat before Eastpaw and her babies, looking at the big heap of them suckling. "There's so many of them, I never knew you COULD have eight babies...well seven."
-
"Theyve gotta make it!" she mrrowed to Orchidblood, surprised her friend could even say something like that in front of the mother. She'd be devestated if they didnt make it. She signed and smiled at Orchidblood, "thanks for helping me Orchidpaw..." she mewed feebly. She looked at Lostpaw and nodded, "Im okay..." she answered her new friend. Eastpaw smiled at Ambrosiaflare, but she was secretly very sad. She had noticed one was dead. And that crushed her. Nevermind the other seven, the one dead, mean she failed. Right after she ate (? lol) the borage leaves to get her milk to come like Ambrosiaflare said. She began to cry and nudge the little dead one with her paw. He wasn't dead! He couldnt be!
ooc: Eastpaw really needs to name these kits XD
Echokit felt the licks of Ambrosiaflare and squirmed. She tumbled over and flailed her tiny paws.
-
Orchidblood saw her worrying over the dead kit and she placed it away from the others. "I can bring it out to camp and we can hold a vigil for it...I'm sorry you lost one. The others looks healthy, like they got energy, they are small though but just give them time."
-
Eastpaw pressed her nose against Orchidblood's side. "Thanks," she mewed. "Oh get her!" she mrrowed, pointing her tail at Echokit. The fawn ticked tabby was ambling away on unsturdy legs. The little kit stumbled and fell over again.
"I guess its time Ive given them names..." She looked at the seven alive kits. Not wanting to name the dead one. "The fawn ticked female is Echokit. Shes feisty.. " Eastpaw purred at he kit who was adventurous obviously. "The fawn ticked male is Onxykit. That cinnamon ticked tabby female there is Diamondkit.. The cinnamon ticked tabby male is Letterkit..." She moved so she could see the remaining kits. Frowning at the very frail looking tomkit she mewed, "this fawn ticked tabby is Asterkit.. The blue ticked tabby female is Hopekit.. And finally that tomkit there, the brown ticked one. Hes Stallionkit.."
She breathed in. Wow! She had alot of kits. Even another that was dead. Eight kits in total! So many of them... No wonder she was SO tired.
-
"Heh, that one's already crawling around all over the place." Orchidblood chuckled. Then she asked, "Nice names...But...What's ticked mean? And that one looks grey..."
