"Why can't stars have spots?" Raiden asked, feeling his blood beginning to run hot again. The crazy tom didn't appreciate when people made Felicis feel bad, and it seemed like this was heading down that road again. The tom lashed his tail about, turning his face to take everybody in his gaze. "We have spots. Prey have spots. Plants have spots! Why can't stars?"
Bringing in a bad one.

Felicis's large eyes looked up at Raiden in a silent plea not to argue.
"Because I've been up to Starclan numerous times," said Moonlightring. "I've been there, I've seen it. Lots of things have spots, but what you name, they are all things that exist in this world. The mortal world. Stars are pure. They are light and only light."
-
Brazenpaw gave a quick glance to Law before looking back at Raiden again. A bit touchy eh? Then again, she would be too if she had presented crazy ideas that weren't possible and nobody believed her. She nearly laughed at the thought, who was she kidding. If she every did anything like this she would want somebody to give her a good smack, not try to reason with her.
-
Law just sat there thinking how the whole thing just seemed more and more sad. These kits had issues--big ones, and it seemed they were loners and alone in the world, largely. At least they had their mother back at that den, that was something, but it seemed like a dreary life to Law. It was making him think twice about whether he really wanted to be a loner as an adult, but at the same time, he knew that some loners had to be living better than this.
-
"But...light can be different colours." Raiden shifted, looking at Felicis. He didn't want to anger his friend, but he wanted to make these cats see that they weren't lying. The world that Raiden visited was completely dark - bits of stars probably existed, but he didn't see them. Felicis spoke to the stars themselves, though...so he had to know what he was talking about.
-
"That's true but they're all light," said Moonlightring. "And they're of the purest light, because they are our ancestors of virtue. Look up there at night. You see any spots? Probably not. Now, I know they're kind of too far away to see spots on'em but trust me I've been up close to them. But, the ancestors as they appear in Starclan still retain their old appearance, just covered in stardust and shining. If they had spots in life, they will retain them to some extent."
-
"Does that mean that Calla might be a cat?" Raiden inquired, turning his gaze over to Felicis. What if the tom was speaking to StarClan themselves? Instead of just a single star? That would be so amazing!
-
Felicis gently and slowly shook his head. "I really don't think so. She sure doesn't look like one. She's round and she glows really bright. And she's warm."
Moonlightring watched the little kit's grey face take on a sort of dreamy and mystical kind of look. Or maybe just dazed. This was probably the weirdest visit she'd ever had. She finished gathering up the herbs she would eat just before embarking on the journey down to Mothermouth. "I'm not sure what it is you're relating, Felicis, but while I don't think it's Starclan proper, I do wish to ask you a whole lot more about it in the future. Both of you, in fact. Raiden, you and Felicis are welcome to remain here for the time being, maybe for the next couple days if you wish. We have some spare freshkill," she nodded to the squirrel and pheasant left in the den that there was no way Rhythmicpaw would eat on her own. "For now you can stay here, as long as you don't make any trouble. Make any and I would be forced to return you to your home beyond the Clan."
-
"We won't make any trouble," Raiden mewed determinedly. Why would they? It wouldn't do them any good to get kicked out of the first Clan they run into. It was starting to get late, though, and Raiden could feel the pressure to sleep pressing in against his eyeballs. Since being with Felicis, he had taken a healthier route of life. Actually eating and sleeping on a regular basis. Before he would stall, waiting until sleep overcame him or hunger gripped him in painful claws. Turning around, he padded toward the back of the den, picking a nice nest and settling into it. "When will you be back?"
-
"I should be back by tomorrow morning, well, hopefully before sunrise, but maybe a bit after," said Moonlightring. "Remember--for now you just stay in my den and don't touch any of my supplies. Though if you like you can busy yourself with gathering more supplies."
-
Rhythmicpaw blinked silently in her corner, not understanding the whole stars-can't-have-any-spots debate. "Bye." She murmured to Moonlightring after casting a cursory glance over the den again.
-
Moonlightring had at last finished up her own herbal concoction and she washed it down with a mouse. Blech, that stuff tasted awful. "Take care, Rhythmicpaw. Mistpaw will be around to look after you...when I get back, let me know if she hasn't been around."
She cast one more look at Felicis and Raiden. "You two--be good. And if you have any more dreams that hold meaning, remember them, I want to hear about them when I get back."
-
Brazenpaw stiffled a yawn as she sat there. Today was quite a day. She looked around, taking in the Shadowclan camp. She hadn't seen inside Windclan really, nor had she seen Riverclan. It was something she certainly wanted to do now.
-
"I promise," said Felicis. He wished he could go with Moonlightring, most of all.
"You," said Moonlightring to Brazenpaw, Law and anyone else not in Shadowclan, "thank you for helping them find their way here, but you had probably better be heading back to wherever you're from...Thunderclan I would assume."
"Yeah." Law nodded.
-
Brazenpaw held back a frown and nodded. She, of course, didn't want to cause trouble but she surely didn't want to leave. She wanted to be here when Moonlightring returned. Though this whole situation was strange, she was complety intirgued by it now. Like a soap opera you can't stop watching, always wanting to see what happens next. She too wanted to go with Moonlightring but knew that would never happen. After a moment she turned to Law "Well, we're off I guess."
-
"Yeah." Law grinned his usual grin. He twitched his nose to get a gnat off. The bugs were back in almost full strength by now as Newleaf was beginning to segue into Greenleaf. "Let's get back home, hey we can't say this was dull."
-
"True." Brazenpaw agreed. She gave a long strtech before starting off toward Thunderclan. she moved slowly as to make sure Law was still with her. That and she desperately didn't want to go back. She had no choice though.
-
Law sauntered back towards Thunderclan alongside her. Why didn't she seem happy? "You okay?" he asked as they got out of camp.
-
Raiden nodded and curled up in a tiny ball. It was safest that way, the less mass you had, the harder it was for the shadows to find you. Tucking his head into his paws, the tom just laid there, waiting for sleep to overcome him.
-
Felicis was hungry, so he nibbled a little on the pheasant, before padding quietly over to Raiden and curling up to sleep beside him.
