    Rustypaw gasped and awoke, with a sharp pain in his head.

    Rushleap sighed in relief, happy the apprentice would be alright.

    Rustypaw sighed and looked at all the unfamiliar faces.

    "I'm Rushleap," The ginger she-cat mewed, attempting to sound friendly, "And these are my kits. Willowkit, Webkit, and Leafkit," She added, flicking her tail to each in turn. "Who are you?"

    "My name is Rustypaw", he said, looking around.

    Leafkit stumbled over her stubby legs, trying to pad over Rushleap, and Rustypaw. The little white she-kit stared at Rustypaw, taking in the cats appearance. Rushleap pushed her back a little, embarrassed about Leafkit staring.

    Rustypaw scooted back into a puddle. "AAHHHH", he screamed. "WATER"!!!

    Leafkit, and Willowkit started giggling, and Rushleap padded over to Rustypaw, "Are you alright!"

    "Sorry", Rustypaw said, embarrassed.

    Rushleap's fur went back down, and she sat down on the rock, relaxed knowing he was alright. "So, why were you out here?" She asked.

    "I was supposed to be checking how how high the water had gotten", he meowed.

    Webkit padded next to his sisters, and glanced at the water, trying to figure out how high it was so he could tell Rustypaw. "Very high," He mewed finally.

    Rustypaw shivered.

    "Where are we going now?" Willowkit asked. "Nowhere until the water recedes," Rushleap replied.

    "But what if the water NEVER recedes", Rustypaw asked.

    "It will," Leafkit mewed confidently, then glanced back up at Rushleap, "It will, right?" Rushleap nodded. "Of course it will," She mewed, trying to sound more confident then she felt.

    Rustypaw shrugged. "Just saying".
