The silence was tangible, and she could feel the lethargic-ness that seemed to be seeping from Hawkclan. She could almost taste it with her useless tongue that formed no words. It tasted like despair and war. It tasted red and metallic. It was much like blood in that sense. The girl's mind would wander for a moment, falling out of such a morbid mindset only to land on the idea of Where's Oakpaw? She hadn't seen him all day today, and being unable to communicate with anyone was beginning to get to her. Her green eyes had flickered as she had softly growled. "Oakpaw... where the heck are you?"But this was the time to rant about the small tom but this was the time for a deputy to come into the clan and be the new deputy. She had walked towards the leaders then and called for Whitestar to meet her at high rock. Next, she had leaped onto the high rock and yowled.

"CAT OF HAWKCLAN, MEET UNDER THE HIGHROCK FOR A CLAN MEETING."

Her tail had lashed, waiting to see the new deputy as she had looked around for the medicine cats to come too. This meeting was going to be important.

  • Bearpaw padded beneath the high rock, gazing up into her new leader's eyes after settling herself down in what she thought to be a good place. Just by the air, she knew this was urgent, or at least enough to call a meeting over it. Speaking of which, the Medicine Cat Apprentice had been absent to these meetings recently, ever since she discovered that she was expecting kits. And by now, they couldn't have been more than a moon away from arriving. That was a long time to be missing out on these; Bearpaw was suprised to not have been called out on it by now.

Anywho, she realized that, once again, she was fretting a tad bit too much. Bearpaw sighed, waiting for her fellow clanmates to arrive. She hoped Insigniapaw would come, and maybe some of her friends, too. But Insigniapaw was the main cat she wanted to come here right now.

  • A slim pure white she-cat slowly walked out of the den her gold orbs closing slightly at the blinding sun. It was quite hot now due to newleaf but the clans enjoyed it somewhat since it brought plentiful amounts of prey. But luckily for her pure white fur, the she-cat remained fairly cool, unlike her darker clanmates who had to lay in the shade to cool down. Finally once the glares of the sun cleared out of her vision she saw the familiar calico standing up on the rock in front of her. The senior warrior tilted her head slightly to the left as she walked. I wonder what this meeting is about.. And on that thought several others popped into her mind, wondering if someone had gone missing, or if a attack was imminent. But the she-cat quickly began to calm herself as she soon sat under the High-Rock her pure white ears perked, ready to listen to the new leaders words. But then Wintercloud began to glanced around wondering how many cats would attend this meeting.

  • An ashy grey tom padded out of the warrior's den, his large tufted ears pricked up. His golden-amber eyes scanned the camp. He saw cats gathering, and spotted out the pure white, slender form of his mate, Wintercloud. Smiling, the black smoke maine coon bounded up to her. He was called Ashfeather. He smiled at her.
"Hey, Love. What do you think this is about?" He peered up at Willowstar.

Stripeheart nosed Speckledpath out of the nursery, compassion in her eyes. She wrapped her tail around the grieving queen, who had recently lost her daughter, Nettlepaw. The world just wasn't the same to Speckledpath, but her adoptive daughter made a point to look after her as she pressed soothingly into the tortoiseshell's slender side. Behind her, Stripeheart's young kits scrambled out of the nursery; Rainkit, Kitekit, and Fightingkit.

  • Wintercloud caught the scent of a familiar someone and turned around to see none other than her mate, Ashfeather. The pure white she-cat began to purr as she nuzzled him on his cheek. "Hey Darling. I have no idea what Willowstar called a meeting for." The senior warrior replyed to the handsome's tom question as she turned her golden gaze back up to the calico leader.

  • Razorwind and Rippletail joined the clan meeting in the front. They sat right under Willowstar and looked up at her with a smile. They wondered what the meeting was about, but knewit was porbably to choose a new deputy. Razorwind sighed, knowing he probably wouldn;t get the position he had always wanted. He wasn't going to beg for it, though. Rippletail purred to his brother.

Cometpelt watched form the back of the group. She knew that Willowstar was one of the cats she needecd to speak to very soon, but it could wait until after this meeting.

  • Empirestate stalked up to the Meeting, fluffing up his gray tabby pelt. Silver disks examined the new leader, a replacement for the loyal Hawkcatcher. The tom couldn't forget the words she had spoken -- a great doom was upon them. But what? More importantly, why? These questions had kept him up for various nights. Yet resepect glimmered in his gaze. He knew what this Meeting was for, and surely everybody around him did as well. The promotion of the deputies here in HawkClan. Making himself comfortable in the fine layer of gritty dirt that covered the earth, his tail kinked over his back. Empirestate tilted his chin upwards as the feline watched fondly as Willowstar boomed her words. A soft echo rippled across the terriory before a silence was lifted with the murmurings of curious warriors.

Dappleflame, former medicine cat of HawkClan, slinked up to the Meeting with her calico patches bright in the morning sun. The ginger captured the beams and caused her slim body to glow with a halo of light. Green orbs traveling to Willowstar, she postioned herself with a smile curling around her lips. Slender tail curling around petite paws, Dappleflame sighed.

  • Oakpaw padded along, his paws hurrying slightly when he noticed the urgency in Willowstar's voice. His friend, maybe his best friend, had been waiting for him there all along and he hadn't been there! What an idiot. Sitting down and looking at the Tallrock, the oblivious brown tabby tom wondered what this was about. He knew that recently HawkClan hadn't been making as many meetings since Hawkstar's retirement, so this had to be important.

"I'm here." He said quietly with a smile, trying not to make his presence too obvious. Usually the tom would be outgoing and positive around his friend and around his clan but at the moment, he stayed silent. This meeting had some sort of feeling of 'this is really important' and Oakpaw didn't know what made him think that but perhaps it was just a gut feeling. The tabby tom was sometimes intuitive, but it was rare.

The small tom made his place among the crowd, not interested in the small talk of 'Ooh, what is this meeting about?' or 'Who will be the deputy?'. Whatever happened, they'd find out soon enough. Whether it was good, or bad.

  • Willowstar had looked at the cats around. Her head dipped as she had towards the leaders den. Worried, she turned back to the cats. "Firstly, Whitestar is sick. She may or may not appear around camp. " She looked at the faces of Hawkclan members. She spotted Oakpaw, as she flickered her tail.

Her green eyes remained calm as she started up again. "Dappleflame is off the medicine cat team, she is now a serior warrior." She announced. Her eyes flickered at the calico. She felt sorry for her, she was getting old. Soon enough, she would be an elder. Dappleflame was like an old friend of hers.

  • Empirestate leaned forward, surprised that at the words that were being spoken. Whitestar was sick? That was the last thing the silver tabby wanted to hear. Tail flickering, panic flashed in the tom's eyes. They couldn't have another leader down, not so soon after Hawkcatcher had released her rank. Forcing his fur down as it began to rise, the next news was even more surprising. He couldn't resist sneaking a glance at Dappleflame in curious nature. I wonder why. Empirestate thought inwardly, orbs glinting as he returned his gaze to Willowstar.

Dappleflam stood straight and stiff. The calico had expected this annoucement sometime in the next moon, but the words were still unsatisfying to hear. She had loved her work, but time passed and felines grew mentally stronger. It was just time, and her emerald orbs would challenge anyone who attempted in trying to question her.

  • Pinewhisker sat in the background, next to Emberflare. Pinewhisker frowned as he heard that his grandmother was sick. She was getting old. She must be like 76 or so moons right now. Gosh. The red tabby tom departed from his son when he saw Wintercloud. Making his way over to one of his best friends, he started purring. He couldn't explain why, but only Fallenleaf and this she-cat could ever brighten his mood anymore. Not even Hawkstar could do that nowadays. It was because he loved Fallenleaf as his mate and he loved Wintercloud as his best friend.

Emberflare saw his father go away and rolled his eyes. He had decided to take his half-brother's advice and he respected Cloudfeather for giving him those words. He didn't trust his father.

  • A brown tabby tom sat towards the back, his large muscular frame hunched over as he sat down. Tigerpelt watched Willowstar with blank, unblinking eyes. He had done too many bad things and yet here he stood. Still in Hawkclan. The battlescarred warrior glanced away towards the sky.

Cheetahpaw, finally now Cheetahspeed watched his grandmother with youthful, curious eyes. They were the same since his birth but had become guarded with age and experience. He rarely smiled anymore except around his family. The tom glanced back towards his father, Emberflare, narrowed his eyes and straightened back up.

Fallenleaf padded clumsily towards Pinewhisker and Wintercloud, her stomach swelling with kittens. She brushed past a few cats, including Emberflare, and sat by her mate with a small smile. Sick? She glanced up towards Willowstar, her head cocked slightly to the side.

Saigner was sitting up in a tree, surveying the gathered clan with interest. Strange how they trusted the leaders with their lives. Everything here was strange to him. Hope, trust, love. All unknown territories to him.

  • Rippletailpricked his ears. Sick? This must not be good. He wondered if Willowstar could handle the clan by herself. But she porbabaly could. He smiled up at her. Dappleflame not a medicine cat? That would be new.

Razorwind could barely beleive his ears. Whitestar sick and Dappleflame off the medicine cat team? Oh well, what ever the new leaders say goes. He looked up and waited for the leader to annouce anything else.

  • Willowstar had looked at the faces of the cats below. Her ears had flickered up then she ahd looked at the leaders den. I could do this. She and Whitestar had been talking for awhile. Her green eyes turned back to the warriors of Hawkclan. "Aye, now. You must be waiting for what me and Whitestar been planning for us right?" She meowed as she smiled. Her eyes landed on the white warrior, Wintercloud. "Wintercloud shall be the new deputy of Hawkclan, for her brave actions and honestly." She announced.

  • Cloudfeather grunted, nodding approvingly. Memories flashed through his head, those of Wintercloud as an annoying kittn who thought he wa better than him. "Nice going, kid. I suppose you can boss me around now." The cream-colored Reaper twitched an ear, licking Wintercloud's shoulder with respect.

  • Dappleflame was...retiring? The brown tabby wasn't exactly sure what to think of this--sure, she didn't really even know her, but the calico would have been Bearpaw's mentor had she not stepped down from the position. And the fact that Whitestar was sick worried her. It was way too early for their leader to lose a life.

Then she heard the name of the new Deputy called: Wintercloud. The name was unfamiliar to Bearpaw, but by the way Willowstar explained why she had chosen her for deputy, the cat seemed like someone to get to know. And Bearpaw might as well have, because this Wintercloud was now deputy of Hawkclan. She decided to try and meet up with her sometime and make some small talk.

  • Wintercloud's jaws nearly dropped at the announcement if that was possible. Me? Deputy? At first the she-cat thought it was a joke as she looked up at Willowstar and saw that the calico's eyes were serious. Finally the pure white she-cat came to reality as she heard everyones praises around her. Wintercloud then smiled at her clanmates as she was proud to become the deputy of Hawkclan. Before she went up to the High-Rock, Wintercloud smiled at her newly close friend, Pinewhisker and nudged him on the shoulder in a friendly gesture. When she heard the familiar voice of a reaper named Cloudfeather she only smiled and winked at the tom and the memories flooded in her mind as she used to annoy the tom when she had snuck out of camp. Then the she-cat turned to Fallenleaf and smiled broadly dipping her head to the new queen. The newly appointed deputy got up to her paws and as she walked by she smiled and nodded to Razorwind as she padded up toward the High-Rock next to Willowstar. Her gold orbs gleamed with pride as she glanced down at her clanmates. Wow I never realized it was so high up here... Wintercloud thought to herself as she had only been on the High-Rock for quite a long time.
