  • Moondust limped out of camp, her face almost glowing in a wide grin. She was still getting used to having four paws instead of three and a half, considering that the last one used to be sprained. "Hiya!" she greeted Scarfire happily, feeling as though nothing could go wrong with the day. "Where are you going?"

  • Moondust blinked in the sunlight as she stepped out from under the shady trees. "I was planning the same," she meowed agreeably. "May I go with you?"

  • "Let's go," Moondust meowed, waving her tail. She started to pad off slowly, allowing Scarfire to set the pace instead of doing so herself.

  • Scarfire paded next to Moondust, slightly turning her head away from her so that she couldn't see the scar on her left eye.

  • "Where to?" Moondust asked. "Anywhere in particular?" She could tell that this cat needed some friends, and the she-cat aimed to be the one to help out.

  • Moondust nodded. "Moondust," she replied. "You're Scarfire, correct? Why are you named that?" she questioned curiously.

  • Moondust flicked one ear. "That's odd," she meowed, scanning the scar. "From birth? I've never heard of that happening." She half-glanced at her own leg, the one so recently wounded, and decided that she would tell her story only if prompted.

  • Moondust rolled her eyes and snorted. "There's no such thing as a curse," she meowed strongly. "Unless a Dark Forest cat appeared to you and told you that it was a curse, I don't believe it."

  • Moondust tilted her head slightly. "Did one?" she asked with slightly less confidence. If a Dark Forest cat had truly appeared, then this cat could be a danger to everyone.

  • Moondust nodded, unaware that Scarfire was lying, or at least avoiding the truth. "Let's keep going," she meowed to change the subject, padding a little faster through the woods.

  • Moondust enjoyed the companionable silence, hoping that she had made a new friend. The she-cat loved to help out others and the easiest way to do so, she knew, was to stay silent and provide a listening ear.
