Black paws led the group of cats towards camp. Melted snow glistened from the tom's back, and steam rose from his shoulders. Breathing heavily, the tom led the way to his camp. He would take Sgorr's offer, have queens and kits at Death Pride until all threat of attack was gone. As the tom climbed into camp, he sighed. "Frontline! Listen, tell all the queens of kits at least a few weeks old to get ready. They'll be going to Death Pride till Sunclan's attacked and that's all over. We can't afford our kits to die."

The gray queen nodded from the entrance of the shed and turned back to talk.

Calmnight glanced over at Sgorr, who nodded. He turned his gaze to the others. "Timewarp, you need to get Irisglade to Dreammeadow. Smokesun, help them." He glanced over the rest of the cats. "Zelda, Chumvi, could you check the slave den and see if any of them have birthed. If they have, move them to the nursery. Newborns and up to ... one moon olds will be staying here until they can go."

Sgorr went to the nursery and climbed in to help get kits out.

  • Irisglade sighed as she entered the camp. What she wouldn't give to be fighting alongside the other cats! But with her injury, she'd be more of a hinderance than a help. She looked over at her brother, Smokesun, who'd remained close to her the entire trip. "C'mon, let's go--"

She broke off as a sleek black kit ran headlong out of the nursery and skidded to a halt in front of her. "Mama!" Merlinkit exclaimed, his silver-blue eyes dancing with delight. "You're home!" He snuggled against her foreleg, then looked up at her and said, "Frostkit and Snowkit won't leave me alone!" Irisglade broke into a fit of laughter, then ruffed his head adoringly with her sheathed paw.

Faolin watched the proceedings with a grin. That little kit would make a fine to-be someday soon.

Coyotescream sat, amber eyes flicking around the heads of his Tribemates as he wondered what he should do. Probably prepare for battle.

  • "I'll gladly help all queens," Poppystorm offered. "Also anyone close to kitting needs to be taken to Death Pride immediately, Calmnight. Otherwise it'll be atleast a moon or so from the day they kit to when they can be moved. Kits udner a moon can be moved, but it'll be a very slow process. Many days." The torbie calico waited for Calmnight's reply wondering if they'd be able to keep these lands.
    -----
Deadleap walked out of a den laughing. "Oh the joy and burdens we have," the black tom huckled. "Ya know it'd be a way better idea to move way far away and claim some land not taken, but you chose here anyway. Son I think you need to start makign better decisions."

  • "I think he just wanted to show off his strength," Coyotescream agreed to Deadleap's words.

  • "But what use would a far territory be to take over the clans? Sometimes I think you don't think, Deadleap." Calmnight growled. "Exactly. They'll be moving right away." He said to Poppystorm, "Could you go help?"

  • Mable wobbled in, breathing heavily,"How...Much longer! I can't hold these kits any longer!" She gasped with pain, crouching down. She breathed in and out slowly, trying to calm herself.

Zelda smiled slightly at Calmnight, and nodded. She bounded over to Mable, and tilted her head,"Uh...Calmnight! This one is in labor. Like...Right now!" Now, she was panicking.

  • "Oh let me get some herbs," Poppystorm mewed. She quickly bounded off to Dreammeadow's den and grabbed a few borage leaves and poppy seeds. "Here you go. Take these and then your kitting will go great." The torbie calico was ready to help if anything went wrong.
    -----
"So what about the clans now you have two groups out there that are a lot bigger then the Tribe about to attack you because you took one of 'ems land," Deadleap told his son. "And it doesn't even have to be that faraway, but somewhere a little further out would do you good when it comes time to do something bad against the clans because then they won't know where you're located."

  • Zelda nodded at Poppystorm. She stayed at Mable's side, soothing her gently,"It's okay. Keep breathing. That's right. You're doing great!" She smiled, and continued to soothe the she-cat in labor.

Mable took the borage leaves, and poppy seeds, and licked them up. She winced, and let out a huge cry of pain. She panted heavily, laying down on her side.

  •
Gothkit bounced out of the nursery - and sank right down into the snow. The kit gave a particularly un-tom like squeak before taking on a determined expression and plowing forward. Now he understood why Frontline hadn't let them come out.

  • Brightkit walked in and ran up to Poppystorm. "I find you!" She yelled as loud as she can, just to annoy everyone.

  • Mable grunted, but she continued to let out cries of pain every few seconds of breathing heavily. Man, these kits were taking their sweet little time getting out!

  •

Calmnight groaned. Another cat in labor on the road! What was that herb that could help wait the labor... He knew there had to be something. "Frontline, lead the kits towards Death Pride. Make sure you flatten the snow enough for it to be easy for her to cross, without going through too much deep snow."

Elixor darted out into the snow from the little den by the nursery he and his mother and his siblings had been in for all their lives. Well, his mother had been out a number of times to get food for herself. Naturally. The little serval trotted up to Deadleap and poked at the tomcat. "Heyya Mista!" He said, glancing over to try to see his siblings and mother in the little den.

  • Zelda padded over to Calmnight, and glanced at Mable,"We have to get her to Death Pride! She can't give birth now! Right now, it's a horrible time!" She looked around frantically.

Mable was still yowling loudly with pain. When would these kits come? Tears of pain were streaming down her face, and she was twitching.

  • Brightkit ran over to Calmnight. "Who're you!?! Why yu odering tem 'round?" She yelled, getting annoyed at the cats yowling. If that cat was being annoying, she will be too.

  • Calmnight glanced at the kit, then away, back to Zelda. "OK. Zelda, take her! Quickly, and keep moving! Frontline, go with, with the kits as well. Keep taps on them. Kits, don't wander off, if you do something bad might happen." He ordered.

Rollkit hopped out of the nursery and trotted to his younger friend. "He's Calmnight, the leader!"

  • The calico kit frowned and tried to reach his height. "Wut wrung wit me? Am I buttering yu?" She ignored Rollkit, wanting to really talk to Calmnight. She wanted to order cats around.

  • "Brightkit! Stoppit!" The almost-to-be aged kit scolded, trying to grab ahold of the kit's scruff. "He's doing grownup stuff!"

"OK, kits, lets play a game. You guys keep quiet and go two or three cats, side by side, behind Zelda, Me, and Mabel. Chumvi, could you go at the back to keep them in order. As well as Smokesun." Frontline sang, trying to organize it.

  • Zelda nodded, and grabbed Brightkit by the scruff,"Come on, Brightkit." She padded after Frontline, the calico kit dangling her in maw.

Mable was panting heavily,"Whoa aren't they coming out?!" She wailed in pain. She wobbled slowly behind Frontline, wincing every step she took.

Zelda followed closely behind Mable, Brightkit held firmly in the seal point's maw.

  • "Where's mumma?" She cried, trying to get away from the cat. "I follow her! Mumma!" She looked around with wet eyes, not liking these cats at all.

  • "Your Mumma is fine! I'm following her, don't worry!" She held Brightkit gently, yet firmly at the same time. Kits could be a handful!

"Are...we...there...yet...?!" Mable was panting as heavily as she possibly could. She couldn't hold them much longer! The kits were kicking, and pushing in her stomach.
