    Rini had made it home after a horrible first day of school. She was new and shy, atleast she talked to one girl. Rini wished she could be like Jake when it came to friends. He was handsom, popular, and a sporty. All that Rini was, was a shy,sad, writer, drawer, and no one important or specail. Atleast thats what she had thought. Rini lived in a small 1 story house with her 8 sibilings and her 42 year old mother.

    At the end of school, Sirena walked home, her book bag slung over one shoulder. On the way, she decided to experiment with her powers. She brought a ball of pulsating blue light to her fingertips. The orb grew steadily. Sirena was excited--it seemed like she was finally able to control her element. Then it went wrong--the orb exploded, knocking her to the ground. She screamed. Blood trickled down one leg. Tears sprang to her eyes--not from pain so much as disappointment.
