  • I have to agree with Sandie. I mainly use my bookmarks now, because there are some threads I was once part of that I honestly don't care about anymore. If there could also be a way to turn it on/off, I'd be fine with it. :I

  • I never use my bookmarks; there's too many old threads in there and I haven't cleaned them out in forever. I use the Unread Replies button instead.

  • Haha I'm gonna decorate my I(:

  • added...I think Im up to date with the "I"s, but I might b missing a few. over 72% of voters like it!

  • Speaking as a member of staff who has had to post in a number of threads to address rulebreaks, many of which are still heavily active, I'd find it extremely annoying to have a little box popping up every time a thread gets posted to. I have three pages of 'unread replies' made up of threads I posted in once or twice before ceasing to bother myself with what gets posted in there.

We have the thread notification system to alert you to any threads you want to keep track of when they're posted to, anyway. It essentially provides the same service and, when you don't want to be alerted to updates, you can switch it off.

  • I've posted in a lot of threads for staff duties.
I have an entire page in my unread replies of pages that get posted to daily that I don't bother checking.
I don't want a number popping up just to tell me a busy thread I don't concern myself with has been updated.
The notification system does the exact same thing, it's optional, the only difference is you get an email instead.

  • But then you have to check your email......wouldn't it just be easier to have this ability, but you could turn it on/off in your settings?

  • If you're using G-mail, you can get the Lab that has the little number to show you your unread e-mails.
And if you have Firefox, you can right-click a tab and choose to pin it as an "app tab", and it'll light up whenever something changes there. So, if you pin your e-mail, it'll light up when you get an e-mail.

Again, I wouldn't mind the idea if there was a way to turn it off, so that staff, like Dawny, aren't bothered by threads they don't care about anymore, or were never part of.

  • I! It would be a bit annoying to see a box everytime, but it is easier.
