Alex's eyes flashed angrily, "She means everything to me!" he growled, taking a threatening step towards Rose.

"If she did why haven't you changed her yet? Hm? Or married her? Or did something important to prove she was everything?" she asked, crossing her arms.
Annie curled up on the bed, tears streaming down her face.
-
"Because I don't want to permanently lock her to my side! One of these days she's going to wake up and realize she's to good for me and find someone better! Safer, and more equipped to actually take care of her!" Alex shouted.
-
Annie flinched when she heard Alex shouting. She buried her face into the pillow, trying to block out any and all sounds.
Rose laughed. "No need to get so snappy, Alex. I was just saying that if that little b*tch is still with you, she's most likely not going to leave. Unless you kill her," she added. "But I can help you with that."
-
"Don't you dare touch her." Alex hissed, instinctively moving himself in front of the stairs to keep anything from getting Annie.
-
"Relax I won't hurt her," Rose lied smoothly. "But she isn't much value to you; except for a snack," she said, knowing it was pissing him off. "If she was something of a value to you, you'd have a ring on her finger. But since not..." she let the sentence trail off, letting him imagine the outcome.
-
Alex let out a warning growl, "She is not a blood bag." he hissed.
-
"Oh, she will be, Alex," Rose murmured, heading for the door. "You better watch out for your pretty toy; or she'll be dead by sundown." With that she left.
Annie was curled up on the bed, hugging a pillow to her chest.
-
Alex quickly locked the door, he should of never let her in, in the first place. Alex glanced at the stairs, carefully he went up them and stood cautiously at the door to Annie and his bedroom. Gently he knocked on the door, fully aware that Annie would be upset with him.
-
Annie heard the knock. "Come in," she mumbled.
-
Alex opened the door but only walked a few steps inside the door, "Can i talk to you about what happened?" Alex asked cautiously.
-
She nodded slowly.
-
"I want you to know that I don't want anything to do with Rose, when I answered the door and saw her, I expected it to be just a quick drop by and then she'd leave. I didn't expect she wanted to do more, and when she started trying to make contact, I tried to keep a reasonable distance away. When she kissed me she had caught me off guard. That kiss..." Alex spat the word, then continued with a more angry voice, "Was the last thing I wanted, every part of me told me it was wrong, and I knew it was. I hated it, it was disgusting, and wretched, and worse then when I drank your dad's blood. It was that bad, because it wasn't you kissing me. I'm sorry that it happened, and I promise you, it won't happen again." When Alex finished talking, he didn't meet Annie's eyes, afraid she might still be upset with him.
-
Annie nodded slowly. "Okay, I trust you," she said, though it was obvious something was still bothering her.
-
Alex's eyes softened, "What's wrong?" he asked crossing the room to crouch next to Annie.
-
"Do you really not want to marry me?" she asked after a few minutes. "You don't have to I was just wondering.."
-
"My biggest fear is that if I do marry you, you'll be stuck to me and unhappy, that's not what I want, but if it made you happy, and you truly wanted that, I wouldn't hesitate to do so." Alex explained.
-
She nodded. "But I wouldn't be unhappy," she explained quietly. "I want to be with you."
-
"Does that mean you want to get married?" Alex asked looking up at her.
-
"Yes," she said, without thinking. "But I never pushed the topic of marriage in case you--in case you never wanted to marry me," she added, quietly.
