I read this book when it first came out, and thought nothing of it... but now there's going to be a MOVIE based on the book! I guess Narnia and The Golden Compass may have been worthy of movies, but The City of Ember? I'm not convinced.

I didn't like The City of Ember. It reminded me of The Giver, somehow. I read the first page of The Something-or-other Spark book but I didn't like that one either. There's also a new third book.
Ya, its a prequel to the City of Ember. Your right, it kinda reminded me of the Giver too, but its still a good book.
