The Strangest Kits (open, medcat/apprentice wanted)

The pitter-patter of five pairs of kit feet could be heard echoing of the medicine den walls. "I don't want to play in here!" The collective squeak of three other voices rose in agreement. "Yeah!" a slightly deeper male voice said, "Why do we have to be in here. It smells like herbs and sick cat." One kit, the black and white one, ignored the comment and continued to pad forward. He inhaled the herbal scent indulgently, just to antagonize the larger kit. "I like it in here, though. You guys can leave if you want." The older kit snorted. "Of course you want to be in here, Cloudkit. You're, like, obsessed with this stuff." He flicked his tail in annoyance. "I've had it with this place. C'mon Cinderkit, Mistykit." He started for the exit with his two 'sisters' in tow. Finally alone with no complaining from his littermates, Cloudkit procceded to the herb store. He never ate the herbs, just ate and familiarized himself with them; got used to their scents and textures. He rarely saw any of the medicine cats, for they were always collecting herbs or something when he was around. Hopefully he was in luck today, though, he wanted to ask about the herbs he was observing.

Cloudkit stared up at Roseythorn. "I'm just smelling and touching the herbs, trying to familiarize myself with them." Then he flicked his head to the herb store. "Sunkit! What are you doing in there?" He padded in after her. Sunkit gazed up at him. "I saw these shiny red berries in the back of the store! They must be candy the medicine cats give to their good patients!" The red juice was around her mouth and a half-eaten berry was at her feet.

Cloudkit sniffed the berry and the juice. "Um, I don't think that's a poppy seed..." Cloudkit stared at Sunkit. "Why did you eat something that you don't know what it is or what it's for? And why was it at the back of the medicine store?" Sunkit suddenly looked sick. "I-I don't f-feel so g-good..."

As Sunkit was wretching, Cloudkit chewed the berries to a pulp and shoved them down Sunkit's throat. She swallowed it and vomited a vile-smelling bile. "Sooo....What do I do now? Despite the crisis at hand Cloudkit's eyes gleamed in excitement. Finally he was treating a patient.

Cloudkit bounded over a nearby tree thick with moss. He clumsily tore a huge clump off and drowned it in the adjoining pool. He padded back over to where his sister lie dazed in a pool of bile. He began soaking the nasty stuff into the moss, his nose wrinkling. Sunkit glared at him and managed to growl "Glad you're enjoying this." Her irritation made her forget about her usual shyness.

Sunkit lapped up the soggy moss and swallowed the poppy seed. "I'm sleepy...."
