    Jeramee Abalone gives his stupid speech as he does every year. Nothing is ever added, they try to make us as bored as possible. I tie my dress again making sure the fabiric is perfect.
    "Oh! I almost forgot!" He practicly giggles whip my head up "There will be NO volunteers in District 1." boos erupt from the crowd. "I know, I know. Lets see who the lucky people will be, huh?" He walks over to the girls' bowl and I hear a girl blubbering in the back. I roll my eyes as Jeramee opens the tiny envolope. "Valeria Winters!" Every one stares in my direction, as I walk breezily up to the stage. "Congrats!" He smiles his white teeth gleaming.

    "Now for our boy tribute!" he interupps me. Boys whoop and yell thier names, As Jeramee takes the envolope and opens it. "(INSERT DISTRICT 1 BOY HERE!)" I see him walk up the stairs and he takes my hand in a death grip, I bite my lip. "Lets hear it for the boy and girl from district 1!" The peacekeepers lead us into the city-hall. When the heavy doors close behind me I relize I'm doomed.

    Mia looked into the distance. Today was the reaping for the Districts of Panem. Mia sighed heavily, as she walked towards the Justice Hall. My name is in there about 5 times.......they wont pick me....hopefully.. More and more kids crowded the Justice Hall. The looks on there faces seemed terrified, ecspecialy for the young ones. Mia's attention focused on the Effie Trinket. Her wigs and makeup made Mia want to puke. Why are the Capitol so crazy for makeup? Mia thought. Effie Trinket made her speech she does every year. With a big smile on her face she walks over the bowl with the girls names on it. "Ladies First!" She carefully took out a sheet of paper. Please dont be me! Please dont be me! Mia held her breath. Effie walked up to the speaker and announced," Mia Whispflare.." Oh no....Wake up Mia! Its only a dream!! But it wasnt. Mia opened her eyes as Effie held out her hand. "Come on now!" he said in her high pitched voice. Mia stumbled up to the stage. Her eyes wide. I cant show fear..... Mia stood up straight her head held high. She tunred to see her mentor Haymitch Abernathy. She heard he was always getting drunk. Great! Im stuck with a drunk man who is sopose to teach me how to survive.....
