Flamemark walked for a bit more before stopping. He turned around to face Swiftpaw with a small smile. "So the first thing you have to do is find a target." He told her as he stopped a flower and motioned to it. "For practicing, you could do a flower." He crouched down as he tried to keep his weight even and lifting his tail but not too high off the ground. "And you crouch down like this." He told her as he focused on the orange flower. "Try to keep your tail off the ground and keep your weight even."
"Shadowpaw!" Joypaw mewed from the apprentice's den.

swiftpaw nodded, taking a careful step forward. she lowered herself slowly into a crouch, trying to mimic flamemark's. she shifted slightly, trying to balance her lithe form. swiftpaw raised her tail a little bit high, one of her haunches jutting out a little farther than the other. "like this?" she questioned, a quizzical look lingering in her gaze.

Flamemakr nodded. "Yep, like that." He said and turned to face the flower again. "Then you spring forward and push forwards with your hind legs." He told her before he pounced on the flower. He steeped back from the flower and motioned her to try.

Shadowpaw turned to face joypaw and mewed "hi"

swiftpaw tensed her haunches, vibrant violet oculars locked on the flower he had touched just moments before. she closed her eyes, breath deeply and finding peace within herself. in a flash of calico fur, she shot forward, pushing herself forward fast. she leaped and hooked a claw into the flower, tearing it from the ground.

Flamemark smiled, feeling proud and impressed from his apprentice's performance. "Great job Swiftpaw! If this was actually an animal than you would give it a killing bite to finish it off. Now I have I question. What makes a rabbit and a mouse harder to catch. It's for different reasons from each other."
