    Korrselia sat in her nest of twigs and leaves, nibbling on a nut. She was curled around Reeki, her son suckling and kneading her belly fur. Sokar's eyes were bursting with joy as he smiled at his mate and son. His tail was fluffed up with pride as well. "I'm going to go scavenge for nuts Korrselia, perhaps we will have enough to feed the whole Tree," he said with relaxation.
    "Don't worry Sokar, I'm sure there will be plenty of nuts and berries."
    Her face however, showed only worry, and Sokar knew why. In early spring, all of the stored nuts begin to sprout, leaving none for the squirrels.

    Sora was checking if any intruders were near the Tree.

    ooc: Just so you know, Scouts look around the territory for predators. So like one scout should go in any foraging patrols or border patrols.


    ic: Sokar scampered down the vast trunk of the tree, and dipped his head in respect to Checks. He made his way towards Sora and chittered, "Sora! I need a Scout to go with me while I forage for food."

    Sora followed the leader's mate stopping making sure if any predator were around,and continue to follow.

    Sokar snuffled around the bottom of the tree, looking for nuts. None. He picked up a huge oak leaf, and scampered up the tree with it clamped in his mouth. He set it down on a branch, and continued to pick buds off of the tree. One he had collected many, he set them down in the oak leaf. Then, using his small yet sharp claws, he cut a slice out of the branch. He snagged up a plentiful amount of tree sap, then stuck two edges of the leaf together, creating a pouch. Holding the oak pouch, he carefully scampered down the tree.

    Sora kept an eye on Sokar and watched around her surroundings.Her fluffy tail twitching.

    Suddenly, Sokar saw a pair of amber eyes fixed on Sora. "Watch out!" he screeched, just as a snowy white cat leaped for Sora.


    Korrselia wrapped herself around Reeki, who had fallen asleep in her embrace.

    Sora scampered off."Run!"she squeaked."Don't look back!"She ran up to a different tree leading the cat away from the leader's mate.

    Sokar knew there were many other squirrel nests in these trees, and he leaped to another familiar tree, housing Carlush. He gave a faint whistle, which was the squirrel's way of greeting, and saw Carlush poke his head out. "Sokar? Why are you here?" he asked with confusion. Sokar panted, "Cat... chased me and Sora..." He had somehow managed to hold the leaf bud pouch, and now set it down on the nest's mud and twig floor. He took some time to regain his strength, then grasped the pouch, "Nice seeing you, but I really need to find my Scout." He scurried down the tree, calling Sora's name.

    Sora heard Sokar and ran fast on a tree limb and jumped off opening her extra skin and glided to him.

    Sokar saw Sora, and opened his own flaps of skin, gliding onto a branch next to the she-squirrel. "It's a good thing I saw that cat!" he exclaimed, "Let's go home, I've got enough buds."

    "Yea thanks"she said.She got her flaps ready to head back to camp

    "Just a second," he said, tearing a thin strip of flexible tree bark out of the birch tree. Using a bit more tree sap, he reinforced the leaf until it was a large basket. Looping it around his neck, Sokar opened his skin flaps again and began flying back to the tree. As he went he saw a few small nuts on the ground, and he put them in the leaf and tree bark basket too.

    "Yea."
    Sokar leaped off the tree, wing flaps opening and letting him glide down quickly. He continued scampering along, occasionally climbing a tree to get another leap. Eventually they were at the base of the tree. There was a hole in the tree at the bottom, and Sokar entered the hollow tree. He climbed a little while until he reached the nursery where Korrselia and Reeki sat asleep. He licked the two with a affection, then he went to the top where he deposited the forage.

    Sora went to her brother, Checks."how's it going Sora" Checks chittered."Fine and you?" Sora said smiling."Not much" Checks said.

    Sora yawned."I'm going to go and rest"she squeaked."Alright"said Checks
