Mew......Mew.......Mew....... BadgerEyes looked up at his mother. Momma why did we come here? he asked. His mother answered with a soft voice, Because there are much more of the world to see and as we once were kittypets, we have freedom now. BadgerEyes thought about that, then he had another question. Momma do you like Sunclan? Well I guess, but there are complications. What complications? BadgerEyes insisted his mother told him. We live by the coyote territory and they will get us, if we don't act quickly. she answers. Oh he says. BadgerEyes quickly falls asleep due to talking to much. He awoke by the sound of hissing and barking. His mother was gone, and as he looked at the door of the shed he saw his mother fighting a coyote. BadgerEyes raced out of the shed and jumped onto the coyotes back. He frantically started clawing at it's back. The coyote yowled in pain, then the coyote shook him off looked him into the eye and started to run toward him. No! he looked to his side, his beloved sister was running toward the coyote, the coyote missed BadgerEyes and hit his sister Cottoncloud. Then the Sunclan leader, BadgerEyes' father jumped from the rock he was standing and dug all of his claws into the coyote's tummy. The coyote died in an instant. BadgerEyes was frightened of what happened, he looked toward his mother and father standing by the dead body of his sister with the rest of the clan. He bounded over to them, tears in his eyes as he looked down at Cottoncloud. That night BadgerEyes did not sleep well at all.
