    Stormstrike glanced towards Leafkit. ''Oh!'' He exclaimed as he ran over to the young kit. ''Here, let me carry you.'' He picked her up and padded up the slope.


    Icepaw watched the others anxiously. ''Well, on second thought, maybe we should go up to one of the higher dens...''

    Lilykit looked up at Moonheart. ''No, I wanna stay! I wanna help out the camp!'' She whined

    The exotic Bengal stopped when she saw leafkit and Stormstrike lagging. Her ears swivveled forward to pick up their conversation as she padded towards them. "Now, Leafkit, you have the most important job of all! You have to protect your clanmates! I doubt they could handle it without you!"she purred, humoring the little she-cat.

    Stormstrike glanced towards Leafkit. ''Oh!'' He exclaimed as he ran over to the young kit. ''Here, let me carry you.'' He picked her up and padded up the slope.


    Icepaw watched the others anxiously. ''Well, on second thought, maybe we should go up to one of the higher dens...''

    Stormstrike's eyes sparkled in amusement. ''Okay then, I'll leave just you behind and see how well you can swim'' he joked

    Pantherkit squirmed around as the cold rain drizzled down. "Mommy, I'm cold; how far is it?"



    Jaywhisper hesitated, the nervously mewed, "Honestly, Pantherkit, I don't know."



    "Oh..ok." Pantherkit nodded.

    ''I was kidding, silly!'' Stormstrike laughed. ''You're coming with me, ok?''

    ''Don't worry, we'll be able to go back after the storm, and then you can play as much as you want.'' He mewed reassuringly.

    Snowsong looked surprised. "But my kits will be born soon and they'll have to make the journey back whilst being so small" she fretted

    The young tom shook his head. ''I'm sorry, Leafkit, but it's too dangerous! We can't leave anyone behind.''


    Novastar turned to his mate. ''Well you don't want our kits to be born in the midst of a flood do you? We want them to be born up high, where it's safe.'' He said reasonably.

    Snowsong felt comforted by Novastars words "Of course" She mewed, her voice like silk
