    Stormclaw looked up. "Hi." he said flatly.

    "Nice day out. The clan will be plentiful of kits if Mapleflower decides to have kits and with Harpwind's kits coming soon I bet you'll be able to mentor one of them." she said brightly.

    "Yes. I'll be looking forward to that!" Stormclaw continued to trace patterns.


    "Hmm..." Iceshard looked around, bored.

    Gracetail


    She padded closer to him, "What's wrong? Are you jealous of the happiness that they have? I know I am. I wish I could have a mate. Have kits of my own."

    Stormclaw grumbled. "We all do, Gracetail. I actually envy Iceshard. She doesn't want a mate. She wants independance. She wants freedom. I don't want that! I want a shoulder to lean on. I want...something."

    Gracetail


    "Count yourself lucky your able to have a mate. I envy my sister and my brother and their freedom to have mates. I envy you! I though you were different, not searching for a mate but just letting life take you where it pleased but no. You're just as obsessed with a mate as the next warrior." she said and stalked away.

    Stormclaw growled and heaved himself away. "If I had a choice I'd be like you, Gracetail," he mumbled and stalked away.

    A growl rumbled in her throat. The she-cat who rarely got mad was boiling. "You'll never be like me! You'd break the Medicine Cat code in your first day." she snarled, hackles rising. "I can't believe I thought I ever I actually liked you!" she added in a hiss, running from him.

    He shook his head. "She'd never understand, would she? The Medicine Cat Code is the exact reason."

    Gracetail


    "If I wasn't a medicine cat maybe I would have a chance with Stoneclaw but he HATES me." she snarled to herself.

    Stormclaw plopped down, sighhing. "Sometimes I wish...I wish the world was perfect. I'd have her...I'd be happy."

    Stormclaw sighed and followed Gracetail. "Listen, I'm sorry, I just..."

    She wasn't listening. "I have to go." she said and took off in search of catint, tears streamed down her face as she ran.

    Stormclaw stared after her, mouth wide in shock. "Wait!" He raced after her. "I just don't want to loose you!"
