• ooc: I've decided to create the south moving thread for the BC-fighting army tonight folks =) This Gathering thread will be able to wrap up on its own on liquid time, but once you have your cat leave to join the army thread, it is no longer in this one :)

ic: Orchidpaw looked crestfallen. "You're too young? I...I see." For just a minute she contemplated not going, but that was unacceptable. She'd left her whole family to go yet would stay home because Skitterpaw was home? No way. She had to keep her priorities straight. She was doing this first and foremost for her family. "I'll miss you Skitter."

  •
Skitterpaw nodded, slightly crestfallen. "Okay. Just... like, be careful. Don't get yourself killed or anything," Skitterpaw joked, although there was a thread of serious concern in his tone. He glanced at Orchidpaw and Acepaw. "Bye, you guys. Nice emeting you, Acepaw," he said, trying his best to sound cheery. Itw as unbelieveably frustratign that Skitterpaw couldn't go battle like he wanted to. Ah well. He turned away from the other two and started the journey back home.

  • Emberlight pushed her way through into the mass of cats, her gaze fixed on a solitary shady spot in a farther corner of the area. Her teeth were gritted intensely while her mind swam with the thoughts of battle, and all the while her neck fur was subtly prickling with anxiety. When she reached that quiet little spot, she sat herself down and glanced behind her, her bright green eyes searching the clearing for the familiar, large brown tabby tom, Rockshore.

So many cats always made her feel claustrophobic. Emberlight knew how much Rockshore hated these Gatherings, but she wondered if he still felt the same tonight. After all, this wasn't exactly a... normal Gathering. Well, in a way it was. Perhaps it'd be better to say that what would happen after the Gathering would be quite different from normal proceedings.

Her ears pricked at the murmuring she could hear all around. Talk of the war on BloodClan was buzzing around like flies on a greenleaf evening.

  • (OOC: Got it Groovy, Mudtail wasn't really doing all that much anyway XD)

Desertwind scanned the crowd, looking for Deerpaw, and figured that was relatively pointless. "Deerpaw, where are you?!" He could tell this Gathering was soon coming to a close.

Sunleaf threw an angry glance at Silverfur, "we don't need help defending ourselves thank you very much."

  • "Bye. I'll be coming home soon I promise! Take care!"

Orchidpaw had not known he wouldn't be able to go to war with her. She'd never felt so down in all her life, but she refused to let herself cry, that was just silly. She didn't even know him all that well.

  • "Was that another family member," Dirtleg wondered aloud to orchidpaw seeing how she was taking this apprentices leaving quite harshly.

  • "No, he's a good friend of mine. I thought he was coming with us, but he's too young. Thought he was older, you know like my age." Orchidpaw knew it could be hard to judge age, but by Starclan she really did suck at it!

  • Wrathbane picked himself up. Finally, it seemed that they were leaving. The black and white tom padded to the outskirts, seeing a mass of cats beginning to leave.

  • Rockshore resisted the very present urge to swat the nearest cat. Even if this was a slightly different gathering, there were still far too many cats and no end in sight to the gossiping, or so he judged. Rockshore looked around for Emberlight, hoping that if he found her he just might not go insane. Finally he spotted, out of the corner of his eye, the familiar pelt of Emberlight accompanied by her green eyes.

Rockshore barged his way through the remaining cats to reach her and sat down by her side. "Nice spot" He mewed to her, tapping her with his tail. He looked around them, hearing the talk about the Bloodclan war. Rockshore was refusing to give negative thought to this battle. It would only make him nervous and in his years of being a warrior, being nervous didn't help. Of course if you got nervous it wasn't really your fault but Rockshore tried to avoid things that made him nervous about battle.

He eyed the clearing suspiciously, as if looking out for danger. He surveyed the bushes critically before turning his attention back to Emberlight. "Sorry I took so long, I hunted a little" He admitted. "Might as well do one thing for the clan whilst I'm still here"

Silverfur shrugged and sighed. "Suit your self. But personally I wouldn't mind the help, if i were in your position."

Deerpaw couldn't hear Desertwind. She wanted to see if her brother made it here or not. She finally found her brother, Cougarpaw. "Come on Cougarpaw come with me."

The tom didn't know what his sister wanted but he went over to her. "What?" He asked.

"Just come on." She said to him. He followed her to Desertwind. "I'm Here. Desertwind. Just wait a sec."

  • Moosecreek closed his eyes, in somewhat happiness, in somewhat confusion. Of course he'd fight against BloodClan, but there was this doubting thought at the back of his mind, another one of his father's.

Fight. Unless you want to end up like your mother. Broken. Shattered. Dead.

What on earth did it mean? As far as he knew, his mother died after stressful kitting. Unless...

Moosecreek's eyes widened slightly, unsure of what he had just unraveled.

'W-w-w-we'll fight, along side e-each other, yeah?'
Speech coming out of a blank, expressionless face wasn't the best to be believed. He ignored and partly avoided Lionpaw's excited advance, noticing the other cats progress around him in some orderly procession. He gave weak corner smile, to the two of them, there was something he'd have to do later, he flexed his claws in a dark manner.

Until then, it wouldn't be long before they'd have to leave to face the nefarious heart of Bloodclan.

  • "Well, I was just ask-" then her tone changed from irritated to spitefully curious. "In what position?" Badgerfoot asked, getting up and circling Sunleaf playfully. "Ah, hell, I'm just teasing. I don't care if the whole of Thunderclan has a thorn in it's pad. Less for me to step on." she rasped, then got up to see where all the cats were clustering to.

  • "Oh, thats to bad the mroe the merrier. It helps keep everyones spirits up knowing that a lot of cats are coming, though," Dirtleg purred.

  • Hauntingpaw laughed nervously when Brazenpaw did, turning to check on the other cats quickly. They seemed to be discussing leaving, but he was turned back to the she-cat when she volunteered her name. "I'm Hauntingpaw." he replied, blinking kindly. He refused to show how nervous and uncomfortable he was - he didn't much like being around so many cats.

  • Sunpaw padded over to her mentor nightwing. "Nightwing when will i get my assesment i'be been an apprentice for 6 moons! it's not fair!" Sunpaw Whined to nightwing thinking about how much fun it had been when she was new. Now she was just sick of it

  • Emberlight's eyes locked onto Rockshore's shape. She was relieved to finally see him here, and just before she was thinking about all the things she could do to him if he hadn't shown up. Of course, she never took him as the type to abandon former obligations. Either way, she greeted him with raised whiskers and a sort of happy smile.

"Yeah, isn't it?" she meowed to Rockshore at her side. It was nice to be away from the crowded, overpopulated mass of furry bodies. Among them, it always felt like she was being swallowed up by some kind of beast. It was suffocating there! Then again, Emberlight never did like big groups. It wasn't that she was nervous around such numbers. It just made her agitated listening to all of their voices at once, and it always felt so cramped.

Emberlight nodded her head. So that was the reason he was so late. Oh well, it was excusable, and quite a generous effort from him to help the Clan. Emberlight was half guilty she hadn't thought of it herself. "That's fine," she mewed. "It was pretty smart of you to do that." Her voice held a tinge of admiration while she gazed at him.

She'd been pretty late herself, and honestly, she had no good excuse. She guessed it was just procrastination and a slight reluctance to come here, even though many cats saw the opportunity to go to a Gathering as a privilege.

Emberlight narrowed her eyes at the group, straining to listen in. Some would call it eavesdropping, but she was just checking in with the situation. The calico she-cat could care less about what most of the cats were talking about, and she didn't pay any attention to their private matters. "... It seems like we'll be leaving soon," Emberlight remarked, glancing at Rockshore again.

She was tense, and despite her visibly stiff posture and short speech, she didn't think she was too obvious. In reality, it was as plain as the pink nose on her face.

  • "Actually, they probably want to kill me more than you. I'm a fugitive. Chased out by my own brother... But we made up, you remember... Looks like we're moving out soon...", the Blackheart fugitive stood up. Catbird looked at his brother, "Let's hope they don't recongize me..."

  • "We're not in any sort of position, so watch your tongue, or I might cut it out of your mouth," Sunleaf hissed, her fangs flashing dangerously. She decided to just leave before she did something that StarClan would have frowned upon, though that was a huge understatement.

"Oh, sorry, but it seems we're leaving soon. Cougarpaw was it? Who's the Warrior chaperoning you?" Desertwind asked, beginning to head off with the mass of cats, better question. Where are they?
