Orchidpaw rolled her eyes. "But you're not."
-
"I know," Dirtleg teased with a smile coming across his face. He couldn't believe it but he thought he was actually falling in love with Orchidpaw.
-
Orchidpaw sighed, breaking into a genuine grin. "My littermates and cousins used to make jokes like that. I think I did too."
-
"I'm sure everyone has their moments," Dirtleg mewed stating his opinion.
-
"More like a phase." Orchidpaw purred. "You know. Every kit, pretty much." She considered herself easily amused, but even she'd outgrown most potty jokes--at least the lame ones.
-
Light blue eyes scanned the clearing for any sign of familiarity. None seemed to pop up, except for with her own clan. Eagleblossom quietly settled herself in the middle of the group, following a Thunderclan apprentice, excited to finally be back at Fourtrees. It had only been two moons, but even that felt like an eternity of separation. Shifting in her place, she glanced around, looking for a conversation starter. Even as a kit, she had never been good at starting conversations.
-
"I could help you look for him if you'd like." Sweetpaw offered, although this may be the wrong time as the Clans were just getting ready to go destroy a Clan.
-
"Thanks, but I dunno if now's the time and anyway, you don't know him by sight." Brandypaw didn't want to trouble others to go hunt down her friend, who was prone to disappearing normally anyway. "This isn't the first time he kind of poofed."
-
"Oh well. Hopefully he'll come soon. Does he really disappear often?" Sweetpaw said, giggling just a slight. She wasn't making fun of Monkeypaw, but the way Brandypaw phrased it made it sound funny.
-
"Yeah it's weird but sometimes he just isn't around. But me and him go WAY back. Back to when there was a fire broke out in camp. Monkeypaw got kidnapped and I went out to find him. Then I got kidnapped too. By this nasty, nasty tribe thing. It was led by this tom called Stormnight. He's dead now though," said Brandypaw.
-
Orion spent a little more time glaring at Neruka until he realized he was in full view of pretty much every cat there up on Tall Rock, and hastily looked down upon them, blinking and feeling a little dazzled. "Eclipse Tribe is doing well. We have found a temporary territory and we thank Shadowclan for their assistance." He said formally, dipping his head to Winterstar as he acknowledged the favour they had done caring for Ravenstar's kits. He also nodded a greeting to Yellowtail.
Diamondpaw stalked along, not looking in the least social. Usually, the loner-born Thunderclan apprentice was curious to meet cats her own age form other clans, but tonight she had a mission and it was to ensure her mentor didn't flat-out collapse after sustaining injuries in battle and insisting on coming to the Gathering anyway.
Jumppaw always felt awkward at these things. There were so many cats all milling around, some calling out cheerful greeting like old friends. The silver and white tom with the vivid blue eyes settled at the edge of the clearing, trying to watch the leaders and his clanmates from there.
-

Ravenpelt looked slightly amused by Yellowtail's hostility. "And good evening to you, too," he purred dryly, stepping back to allow the ThunderClan deputy more room. He was going to ask how Nightstar was, but on second thought, that could wait.

--
Quote"Not before I left to go to the war," said Orchidpaw. "I hope they've found her by now, if not she probably had the kits already somewhere else. If she's even a live. but I think she is, she probably went to the outlands somewhere to try and find the father of her kits."

Lionpaw inhaled through his nose, pity in his eyes. "That's terrible," he breathed, and then glanced up at his father. "Can't we go find her? Or talk to Dreamstar ourselves?" Falconstripe looked solemn, and replied, "I'm afraid that Orchidpaw already tried." Lionpaw pulled a face, disgruntled.
-
Sunleaf padded straight through all of the cats, getting closer to the Highrock to hear the Leaders better, and trying to stay away from any other cats.
Desertwind barely heard Orion say something, and then dip his head to Winterstar, huh...I wonder what that's about. He shrugged it off, waiting for one of the representatives of the main Clans to speak. Most of all Yellowtail, I hope we get an explanation of what took them so long.
-
"My family does things on our own, now," said Orchidpaw. "Or we ask our clanmates for help if we absolutely need to. It's how we do things."
-
Yellowtail nodded to all of them without commitment, choosing to ignore Caligula's blatant comment. Oh yes, the pair of Neruka and Caligula were almost as bad as SunClan. What a wonder she couldn't stand gatherings.
-
Cypresshill had just arrived in the clearing, which was by now, full of cats. He hoped that he wasn't late, but before going he had had to say his goodbyes. He scanned the clearing for the majority of SnowClan, specifically Rueheart. He was in there somewhere.
Spotting a few SnowClan cats, he began to weave his way through the crowd towards them. All the while he kept relaying the most recent images of his family through his mind. He missed them already. Would he ever even see them again? For all he knew, this battle could be his last.
He knew better than to dwell on that thought though. It would just keep him awake at night if he thought too much of it. It was okay to think about Rena though. And his kits. What could that hurt?
The brown tabby had reached the SnowClan cats, and he sat down amongst them and tried to listen in on what was going on. Hopefully somebody would fill him in.

Malicepaw grunted a greeting to Sweetpaw. "I'm Malicepaw of Thunderclan," he said. Not that you would care...
-
Spikedpaw smiled at Malicepaw. "I'm from Shadowclan," she told him. "Maybe we could be friends, although we are from different clans!" That way I can get more info on Thunderclan's current status...
-
Malicepaw shook his head. "We can be friendly during the full moon," he snorted. "but any other time and we are enemies."
It would be a real shame that they couldn't be friends. Malicepaw thought that she was really cute.
