  • Character Name:
    Dandyglide
    Character Age:
    12 moons
    Gender:
    Male
    Alliance:
    Hawkclan
    Rank:
    Warrior
    Appearance (6 or more sentences):
Dandyglide is a normal looking young cat with short, dark blue fur similar to the color of those greyish-blue rain clouds we can sometimes see off in the distance before rain comes. His medium-length, curly tail doesn’t give much away, but the extra weight around his belly certainly does! His legs were also bulky, but not from fat; bulging muscles rippled all the way from his flanks down to his paws! When moonlight hit Dandyglide’s long, pearlescent whiskers and dull brown eyes, his white muzzle seemed to explode with radiance. His blue ears had no defining characteristics, unless you noticed that there were no battle scars whatsoever. That was true of his whole body, in fact: no blemishes from battle. Oh, sure, there were a couple of patches of with less than perfect fur, but those were due to a bit of malnutrition that every rogue faced before becoming a well-fed warrior.

Personality (6 or more sentences--these sentences form their own section and do NOT count towards the 4 groups below. Those are additional requirements):
Dandyglide is an outgoing cat eager to make new friends and find a new home. He is very easy-going, gliding along and letting most things roll off his tail. However, he can be provoked to scathing sarcasm when something dishonorable is done knowingly. You’ll often find him in front of or behind other warriors since his naivety often comes out as bravery... or stupidity depending on how you look at it. In other words, he’s rather quick to act without thinking, or when he does think before acting, it doesn’t get him far due to his lack of experience in most situations. In summary, Dandyglide has the mind of a wee kitten, but the heart of a lion.

    ---Likes (at least 3):
Dandyglide likes to find and eat wild berries.
He values honor, status, and rank very highly and gravitates towards cats who value the same.
He likes to learn new things.
    He likes talkative cats.
Although he doesn’t know it yet, he is very fond of cats of Elder status: what they represent and the wisdom they can impart.
    --- Dislikes (at least 3):
Dandyglide is not fond of enclosed spaces that make him feel trapped, especially when he has to sleep in them, though he will obviously have to come to terms with this in order to live with a clan.
He dislikes lazy cats only because he can’t understand them... why they would not want to be enjoying life and their world as much as they possibly can.
He dislikes being told to give up or being told that the way he does something is wrong. Note that he will quickly admit that he is wrong and attempt to change according to suggestion, but this doesn’t mean he likes it.
He really, really dislikes cats who are gunning for a mate solely for the purpose of procreating, especially if they are a young warrior.

    ---Strengths (No MORE than 5):
Dandyglide can put out a decent amount of speed for short to medium distances.
This cat does not flinch at the thought of or in the face of danger, except shadows, as noted below.
He is quick and eager to listen to and thus show concern for others of any clan or background.
He’s got a grasp on understanding and communicating wordlessly with deaf cats

    ---Weaknesses (At least 3):
Dandyglide has an unnatural fear of large shadows (cat size or larger), because in the past, shadows usually meant another cat was looming over him, intending to intimidate or fight him.
His ego can quickly get away from him and it often turns him into a snooty, sarcastic fox-hearted cat.
He is very, very naive since he’s essentially lived in a prison, hidden from the outside world, his entire life.
That goes hand-and-hand with his complete lack of experience in hunting, fishing, fighting, and most other Clan staples.

    History (8 or more sentences):
Dandyglide’s background is akin to a bright spot in a horror film, if there was such a thing. He was born to light brown female inside a cold, hard Birthing Cave. He didn’t notice the chilly leaf-bare air because his mother was curled so tightly around him. Although he woke up without any siblings next to him, he never knew if he was an only-kit or not, and given the savagery of the group, he doesn’t want to know...

Yes, that loose group of rogues deserved the term “savages”, according to Dandyglide and his mother. The small group of ill-tempered and quick to jump cats forced every young cat to literally earn his place in the group by fighting the oldest senior member to the death. If the young cat, usually 12 moons old, defeated the Elder, they dragged the body out of the camp to a place of their choosing and returned victorious. If not, well, that was one less whiny mouth to listen to when food was scarce, which was almost always. Only the strongest cats were even moderately well-fed; most of the food was reduced to crow food during the constant squabbling.

Most queens kept their youngsters in the rock cave with them in a futile attempt to hide their presence from all the other cats. So most kits, including Dandyglide played the only way they could: running around in circles, chasing imaginary foes or butterflies. It would have been quite a dreary existence if Dandyglide’s mother hadn’t had a plan for him. From the time his little ears opened to the time she ushered him into the forest, she told him fantastic tales of great Warrior cats that had once come into their camp and shared their faith in Starclan, their method of surviving in large groups, and their concern for each other which shone through their eyes. From that moment on, she knew that’s where her Dandyglide was meant to be -- to have a better life based on multiple choices, and multiple cats, instead of a life based on one magnificent or deadly day. So the day before his 12 moon birthday, she snuck him out of the camp at dusk and told him to run as fast and far as he could... She begged him to seek out a new life with new friends who would actually be friends instead of sparring partners.

Roleplay Sample (Required for first advanced bio):
(Original located at http://warriorcatsrpg.com/inde…8.msg14344274#msg14344274 This has been edited for typos, grammar, and word choice.)

Dandyglide's mouth opened into an amazed O-shape, and he squeaked like a kitten seeing Four Trees for the first time.

The corners of his mouth turned up as he realized, I've done it! I've actually found a place to call home. Hawkclan!

Dandyglide quickly bowed his head in respect to the strong, regal-looking cats. I bet I look like a piece of fresh kill, after having fallen in that stream yesterday... he thought. “I know I must look kinda scraggly, and to be honest, I'm a little embarrassed by that, but if you will have me, I can lend my paws to whatever you need,” he said as he raised his head and met the greeter's gaze with a hint of hope.

“I've been on a rather long journey,” Dandyglide gestured with his tail to the way he came, “sent away from a loose group of ruthless rogues who force each cat to earn their place in the group by fighting another group member...” He glanced down in shame and slight fear as he recalled bloody battles of the past. “...to the death.” he finished in a whisper. “So my mother sent me away when I was old enough to travel on my own to seek out a group of cats of which she had heard tales.”

Dandyglide brightened up and put on a friendly smile again, though his fatigue was getting harder to cover up. He looked each cat in the face as he asked them, “May I follow you to your home--err,” he backed up, both physically and mentally. These cats may see such a forward question as an affront or as a spy maneuver. He wanted to be very respectful and offer to help; this might be his only chance of making his mother proud.

He kneaded the ground some more, making paw dents in the dirt. “Err, how should we proceed? Will you take me along with you until you return to your home and your leader? Or should I wait here?” He studied the beautiful plains and horizon behind the group of cats as he waited for their answer, and he pondered, I know these questions may come across as annoying, but I really, really want to make a good, strong, impression for these cats who might be kind enough to give me a new outlook on life!
