Patchkit crawled out of the nursery. The young she-cat shook her fur before stretching out her paws. Her mother must've gone out for an early hunt as she shook her head and sat down. She stared around the camp before spotting her mother, Berrypaw, near the fresh-kill. Her father was no where to be seen in the camp as she sat boredly, waiting for her mother to come and sit with her. After a while she bounced towards the she-cat and sat down. She had been meaning to ask why her mother was an apprentice and her father was a warrior, but no one seemed to answer her the first six times she had asked. Her father was a warrior in the camp, shortly made a warrior after her mother was pregnant, he took the name Fireheart. Patchkit let out a wail to get his mothers attention.
Berrypaw purred as she turned and licked her kit on the ear "What are you doing up so early?" she mewed, wrapping her long brown tail around her tortie kit. She licked her paw and swiped it over her head before dipping her head to the other apprentice she was talking to. She looked around the camp for her mate, hesitating when she didn't see him. She had always been a worrier that he'd get hurt when he was on a patrol, but she relaxed when she saw him exit the warriors den for a patrol. She simply dipped her head to him, considering no one knew who Patchkit's father was anymore, she didn't like her mother knowing she was mates with a warrior. She looked down at the young tortie kit who was eating a small mouse. She let out a purr and lay down, tucking her paws under her chest.
