• Things were all upended with Scythe’s death. Sharven knew there was a chance of rioting and general uneasiness, so this seemed to be the perfect time to bring these cats together.

Scythe had given them his blessing. Pluxiria had approached him shortly before he vanished. These two cats would need to continue to prove their loyalty and reliability, or Sharven had it in his mind to make them realize just how in control they were. After all, these two were still Skull Peasants. They would not be treated any differently in front of other cats, and their secrecy would be of the utmost importance.

The grey tabby tom took a deep, sighing breath. He patiently waited for Sorae and Lala to arrive in the designated meeting cavern. Pluxiria should be here, soon, too.

  • yes yes, it was actually a fine day. Sharven and Pluxiria had called her, for what reason she is obscure of. Was she in trouble? Honestly, she was scared to death. She knew of the punishments her leader and deputy could give her, tortures that were tortous. Sorae nervously sat down near the tom, her eyes full of worry as her silver tabby tail twitched.

"Yes, your Majesties? Did you need me?"

  • Sharven eyed the she-cat that Pluxiria had recommended for this new task. He could get used to being called 'Majesty'. What was best, it didn't seem there was a hint of sarcasm in her tone. It was all starting out well.

"Yes. We will wait until Lala gets here. I don't like to repeat myself." Sharven muttered.

  • Lala had felt uneasy ever since she had received the secretive summons from the Skull deputies. Over and over, her mind relayed through her encounter with Sharven during her outing with Poe, and her behavior since. Was she in trouble? Had she unknowingly done something worthy of punishment?

The white munchkin's ears shot up and she froze as she thought she detected pawsteps. But after a few moments she was sure it had been something else. She couldn't help but let out a quiet sigh of relief; honestly, how she had come this far without being caught seemed like a miracle to her. The meeting place was just up ahead, so she continued and turned a corner.

Lala was definitely not expecting to see another cat before Sharven, and it took her mind a moment to adjust to what her eyes were seeing. Cautiously, she padded forward to join them. When she spoke, her voice was soft and steady, but her bright green eyes showed her confusion. "Deputy Sharven," she murmured dipping her head in respect.

  • Sharven nodded to the white munchkin he had caught Poe fraternizing recently. She showed much respect, and that was one of the man reasons she was here. She knew her place.

"Lala." He greeted, his tone flat and not all-too friendly.

Looking around, craning his neck to see if Pluxiria was going to join, Sharven let out a sigh. Life of a leader must indeed be keeping him busy.

"Well, if Pluxiria will be joining us, he will be late, it seems. I'll get started with the basics. Do you two know why you were called here to hold and audience with Pluxiria and myself?"

  • Sorae tilted her head. "No, your majesty. I do not know." She sounded like a kitten clueless, but she was actually clueless. She wondered if she was going to be killed any moment. Two she-cats, two toms. Hopefully, they weren't pieces of entertainment for the leader and deputy to claw to bits.

[ thank you for the opportunity, guys! <3]

  • Lala was relieved that she wasn't the only one out of the loop. "Neither do I," she mewed, with a fleeting glance at the other she-cat and Sharven before focusing on her paws again. It didn't seem like he was angry, at least. She kept her ears pricked in anticipation and waited for his explanation.

  • OOC; Sorry! I was away this weekend.

Sharven kept his annoyance at Pluxiria's lateness under wraps. They had agreed to come here together, but with his new role as leader, he must be quite the wanted tom. Having both Sorae and Lala's attention, he began his speech.

"You've both been asked here, as Peasants, to serve the Skull. Should you chose not to accept the offer..." he trailed off.

What would they do? Well, frankly, they would have to kill them.

"Let's just say it is an offer you won't refuse. In Scythe's death, we have noticed some discord in the she-cats and the Peasant's den. This is where you come in."

    He waited for a reaction.

  • OOC: S'okay! :D

IC: Lala listened quietly, the words turning over in her head as Sharven spoke. Serving Skull? Trouble with the peasant's den? They wouldn't refuse? A small shiver ran through her at the last thought, and she didn't think she would like what a rejection would entail. And the peasant's den... "So, what exactly are you asking us to do?" She mewed carefully, politely. Already, the suspicion had been forming in the munchkin's head, and she waited to see what his response--or the other she-cats was, for that matter--would be.

  • Sharven seated himself, casually drawing a licked paw over his ears. He wanted these cats to understand the importance of their roles and how they related back to Skull. His nonchalance was nothing more an attempt to keep the situation calm and open. However, if either disagreed, they would certainly never find their way back to the Peasant's den.

"You both have proved in one way or another that you are reliable, trustworthy she-cats - a rarity, I might add. Skull has a bad rap for it's mistreatment of your ilk, but really it's just the she-cats and the toms who don't wish to strive for their best in the clan that we can't tolerate."

This was a partial truth. They probably didn't want to strive for their best because they were all prisoners... The only way Skull gave them to become anymore was to prove themselves loyal and stay true to their new 'home'.

"Nevertheless, Pluxiria and I have devised a plan for you both; to become spies. Your role would be to keep an eye on the Peasants den. Report anything you hear that might be against the Skull laws, any hints of discord or uprising. This way, we can deal with the issues before it ever come to be anything more. You will still live as Peasants, but you will be rewarded greatly in due time. Do you have any questions so far?"

  • Sorry for my lateness >.< i had schoolwork to do. XPPP
    ---

Sorae's eyes widened. Spies? A spy? It sounded perfect for Sorae. No cat would've talked to her, being a shy and silent she-cat most of the time, giving her the advantage of gaining information without giving anything away. No cat would suspect her to be a spy.

"I accept, Sharven." It would be lovely to finally be something for a change.

  • "Wonderful," he replied, a twinkle in his yellow eyes.

"You will be trained to communicate in bug. We wouldn't want the Peasants over hearing anything, would we? You will be called to meet with us one a moon, unless you see something that needs more urgent reporting."

He turned his gaze to Lala. "And you?"

  • Lala still wasn't sure how she felt about turning spy, but it didn't really seem like there was much of a choice. Besides, a selfish part wondered if though they would be treated like other peasants, things might turn out better for her and her possibly-more-than-friend, Poe, if she accepted and did her job well. With a slight nod more to herself than the others, she dipped her head and murmured, "As do I."

OOC// There are no words big or fancy enough to apologize for my lateness. SO sorry. >.<

  • With a curt nod, Sharven was pleased. "Good. It's settled. I will escort your back to the Peasant Den and will send for you when are to meet next."

In their next meeting, he would teach them to speak in insect, as to keep suspicions about them under wraps.

"In the meantime, Pluxiria is starting a series of she-cat battles. Perhaps you might want to join them for sport."

With that, the grey tom stood and motioned for them to follow him back to their dens.
