Crystalpaw in need of good friends

    Crystalpaw leapt forward, but missed the rabbit. However, she swiped a paw out before she fell and it stunned the rabbit. It leaned motionless against a rock, dazed. When Crystalpaw got up to finish it off, another shape darted out of the burrow. "Snakepaw! Quick! There's another rabbit that ran off!"

    Snakepaw noticed the other rabbit just as Crystalpaw said so. "Quick, get the other rabbit while I get this one." He yowled to her. Snakepaw dashed across the snow, chasing after the fleeting rabbit. Luckily, the rabbit tripped over a block of ice and Snakepaw caught up and gave it it's last breath. "Did you get yours?" he called out.

    Crystalpaw heard Snakepaw and scrambled over a mound of snow to get to him. "Yeah, I got a FAT rabbit," she prodded the squishy rabbit with a paw. "Stupid thing must be stuffing itself every day." Crystalpaw looked up with excitment in her eyes at Snakepaw. "Hey, nice catch. It must've been really fast. But you were faster."

    Snakepaw gave himself a few embarrased licks on the chest. "It was nothing, the dumb'l rabbit tripped over it's own foot!" he chuckled at the memory of it. "It was actually really funny! The rabbit looked so surprised, I swear it fell over because of it!" Snakepaw looked at the moon that was just coming up. "Wow!" he exclaimed. "It's so bright!"

    Crystalpaw purred. "It really is beautiful. When I look at the moon, I think of what I gained today. And right now, I now that I gained the greatest friend any cat can ever have." Crystalpaw smiled at Snakepaw with her eyes.

    Snakepaw could feel waves of heat coming off of him. "Thanks," he blushed, "You're the greatest friend I've ever had," he added quickly. I wonder if one day we would be more than just friends . . . Snakepaw thought quietly, leaving the question unsaid.

    Crystalpaw watched the moon with Snakepaw. She had no idea when she had fallen fast asleep on Snakepaw's shoulder.

    Snakepaw felt his cheeks burning. Here was Crystalpaw, the most beautiful she-cat in all of the clans, asleep on his shoulder. He could hear her snoring a tiny bit. Snakepaw looked at her face in the moonlight. She was so beautiful . . . especially in the moonlight.

    Crystalpaw was sitting on a cloud. Somehow that was normal. Then she saw herself asleep on Snakepaw. "Oh no..." Crystalpaw murmured, terribibly embarressed. She wondered what Snakepaw was thinking. Surely he wouldn't mind? Crystalpaw, thinking about Snakepaw, let out a small sigh. The young tom was the nicest, funniest, and most handsomest cat she had ever met. After a while, when the first streaks of light lit up the sky, Crystalpaw fell off of her cloud and woke up.

    Snakepaw felt a jolt on his shoulder. He then noticed Crystalpaw was awake. "Hey there sleep head," he teased. "Welcome back to Snowclan!"

    Crystalpaw turned red and hot under her fur. :-[ :-[ :-[ "Oh great StarClan...I am so sorry about that!"

    "Oh, no! That's okay," he said urgently. "I actually kind of liked that," he muttered quietly, licking his chest in embarrassement. "It was nice, having you asleep on my shoulder like that."

    Crystalpaw didn't know what to say. She finally settled with touching his shoulder with her nose. "It's been half a day," Crystalpaw murmured. "Our Clanmates will have gone crazy with worry. Let's go back home. oh yeah-don't forget the rabbits."

    When they entered the camp, cries of joy erupted. Crystalpaw's father nuzzled her warmly, and pulled her away from the showered with licks Snakepaw. "Wait, I-" Crystalpaw began to protest. But suddenly she found herself seated in her nest, and Ravenstrike was giving her a scolding. Crystalpaw pushed her way out of her den and shoved all the cats around Snakepaw away. "I am sorry to interrupt your welcome backs, but Snakepaw needs some rest. Don't you, Snakepaw?"

    "Um. Of course," Snakepaw answered, while smiling at the brilliant idea that Crystalpaw just made. "Yeah! I'm really sleepy and tired and yeah!" he said quickly as Crystalpaw pulled him into the den with her.

    "Well, yeah, but it was nothing!" Snakepaw said quickly. He didn't want her to know that he was actually hunting at night so that everyday, she could go to sleep with a full belly.

    Crystalpaw narrowed her eyes. For a long moment it was silent. "Alright, then," She meowed. "I won't push you if you take a nap now. You look pretty tired. Oh-are you hungry? I could get you something."

    Snakepaw purred. "Thanks, some food would be nice." He paused. "How 'bout that fat rabbit you caught just now?" he teased. "While your gone, I'll take a really short nap," he said as he laid down on his nest while yawning.
