Crystalpaw in need of a mentor

    "Okay," Crystalpaw meowed. She also got up. "But can we train tomorrow?"

    "Border patrols are training.", said Iceheart as she flicked her tail towards Crystalpaw as she walked out of the camp.

    "We will battle train in the morning if there is nothing else we need to do in the camp." She meowed as they walked along the border.

    "Okay," Crystalpaw meowed. "But for now, are we going to refresh the scent markers?"

    "If we need to. There was a patrol earlier so we may not have to.'' She meowed as she started walking along the border.

    Crystalpaw began to wander into another clan territory, first putting one paw in, then one side in, until she was walking with Iceheart side by side along the border.

    "Crystalpaw, don't walk in their territory. Walk on my other side please." She meowed.

    Crystalpaw reluctantly moved back to SnowClan territory. "But why? It's not like anyone else is patroling."

    "It doesn't matter. They will smell your scent on their side of the border and it could cause a fight. We don't wan't that, especially when things have been so peaceful." said Iceheart as they continued to patrol.

    Crystalpaw cocked her head, but said nothing. After a while, she meowed, "Iceheart?"

    "What does a badger look like?" she asked. Crystalpaw had never met a badger once in her life.

    "Well..they're short, stocky animals. They have a sort of triangular head with a white stripe going down their head and back. They have enormous paws and claws and can give a deadly bite. Why do you ask?" said Iceheart.

    When Crystalpaw heard the word deadly, she gulped. Cats had told her that badgers were just slow, stupid animals. She turned around again. The same creature was still lumbering slowly into SnowClan territory. Iceheart's description fit it perfect. Should I tell Iceheart? If I do, I might save the clan. If I do, Iceheart will most likely attack it and get killed. The apprentice sighed and pointed to the badger with her tail. "Because...becasue I saw that thing, and I thought it might be a badger or something..."

    Iceheart looked to where the apprentice was pointing. She gulped when she saw the badger slowly stroll into Snowclan territory. "Crystalpaw...run back to camp as fast as you can and tell them there is a badger in our territory. Don't stop along the way. OK?" she said as she studied the badger. If I attack it alone it could kill me., she thought. But maybe I can distract it until the other warriors get here to help.

    Crystalpaw was about to take off, when suddenly her eyes widened. "No, Iceheart. You couldn't possibly be thing of...?" Crystalpaw's eyes suddenly flashed with anger. "Well, then, if you're going to fight it, I am too."

    Iceheart rolled her eyes at what Crystalpaw had said. "NO, I'm not going to fight the mouse-brained badger alone. But I do need warriors to help me. You don't have enouh experience to fight a badger this big anyway and I don't want you to get killed. Please go get help." said Iceheart as she walked in circles around the badger

    Crystalpaw was in a hard decision. "I'll go and get help only if the badger won't attack you when I leave," she said.

    "It won't, I promise. I've dealt with badgers before." she said. Although I was never alone, she thought. "Just make sure whoever comes hurrys up."
