• [fancypost borderwidth= 0px]Swiftpaw slowly trekked across the Riverclan province, keen on finding a particular she-cat as she walked through the forest life. The younger adoptive sister of Bearstar had checked the dens before leaving, but there was still no sign of the Windclan leader despite her anticipation. She was beginning to give up her chase, but knew better than to doubt herself when the signs were so obvious. Swiftpaw had managed to track down her scent somewhere outside of camp, but with so many scents lingering near the entrance, both a mix of Windclan and Riverclan, it was hard to keep track of who was who.[/fancypost]

  • Gravelstar was actually on her way back to RiverClan with a duck hanging by it's neck in her mouth. She'd caught two that day and was feeling quite accomplished, her sole purpose having been for the delicious water fowl. The other one was hidden away in her den along with her youngest kittens.

One didn't find many ducks in WindClan territory, and since coming to RiverClan Gravelstar had discovered their delicious flavor. It was now ranked as her second favorite food, right behind -what else- rabbit. She had never tasted anything like it before. Sure, they got migrating geese in the tamer areas of the plains, but they were massive birds with a nasty temper. If a whole hunting patrol was lucky they could bring one down. She herself had never eaten one.

Duck was fantastic. The taste of it's blood made her mouth water and she couldn't wait to get back for her own share. There was a rustling as the leader dragged the heavy bird through the reeds with a heave and came face to face with Swiftpaw. "Mff," she muttered, then dropped the feathered prey. "Hey there."

  • [fancypost borderwidth= 0px]Swiftpaw continued to quickly trot forth, keeping her keen gaze lingering across the forest, nose high and ears pointed sky-ward. When a familiar voice echoed in her ears, immediately Swiftpaw jerked to the side. "Gravelstar! Hey!"

Finding a small smile to stray along her lips, the assistant deputy glanced briefly at the duck the leader had dropped to the ground, averting her gaze back upward. "Bearstar is allowing me to send a patrol to Windclan to inspect the damage. I though you'd want to come."[/fancypost]
