    Spottedbreeze's mind wandered back to Nightclaw, although she attempted to force it back. She glanced at the small pile of prey she had managed to catch, a blackbird and two mice. She gave a faint smile, rising to her paws. She pricked her ears for any sign of her fellow clanmates.

    Nightclaw had padded into the forest that evening because he was tired. Very tired and stressed. He wanted to relax his mind, think of happy things. If he was going to stay, he wasn't going to stay in misery.
    But he knew he wouldn't be ale to fix this cruel Clan. And he knew that because of that, he would be leaving soon. Never returning except in battle.
    Would I really be ale to come back and fight Spottedcloud? Thinking of Spotted, his mind wandered t Spottedbreeze and a smile appeared on his maw, curling the corners of his mouth up. Spottedbreeze..he thought. He started humming, "Come on shine a little. Nothing lasts forever. There's got to be something' better than in the middle. Me and Cinderella, put it all together, we can drive it home; with one headlight!" he gently sung out.
    He let his amber gaze wander and suddenly felt dropsy. Until he saw the familiar pelt of Spotted..yes! Spottedbreeze. Nightclaw let his smile drop. "Did you hear that?"

    Spottedbreeze pricked her ears as she heard smoothly-flowing words being sung out in a gentle, soft, voice. She allowed a curious smile and crept through the bushes, heading towards the path the voice was coming from. She froze as she realized the singer was Nightclaw.

    She sat and wrapped her tail around her paws as Nightclaw spoke to her, "Yes, I heard." She tipped her head, "But it's not a bad thing." She grinned, "You weren't pitchy in the least."

    The black Tom frowned. "Still." he wanted to die. Then he realized that the song he had just sang popped in his head when he thought about her. Crap! he growled silently to himself. Well, you couldn't hide behind someone and rely on them to give you all your answers in life. That was cheating. And cheating was lying. And who wanted to be a liar? Certainly not Nightclaw and he would never be proved as one. It would be embarrassing.
    What also would be embarrassing would be to ell her he liked her and have her not like him back. But the worst she could do is run away and never talk to him again. So what speaks he losing? A very good crush, a mate maybe. A liver, but nothing he couldn't handle. Nothing he hadn't gone through before. "It was for you. I don't know what came over me but all of a sudden, I really like you."

    Spottedbreeze gave a faint smile as he frowned, knowing that her having heard him singing was making the poor tom uncomfortable. She tilted her head slightly, wondering why he had been singing in the first place. Besides, where would a cat be listening to music? xD

    Spottedbreeze's eyes widened a bit, then narrowed. The smile faltered when he said he liked her, and she was hit with a sudden wave of questions, and emotions alike. She paused, wondering for a nanosecond if he was joking. She pushed it away; even if he was joking, she could always go along with the act.

    She padded towards him, waving her tail to-and-fro, "I really like you, too."

    Spottedbreeze laughed, "I want to love you, too." She tilted her head, "You know what I meant." She narrowed her eyes, "Do you want to stay here, or leave?"

    Nightclaw thought for a minute and responded, "Leaving..as in the Clan or leaving to go back to camp?" he thought that over and figured she meant the camp but then he kept going quickly, "If you came with me, I would make you my Emporess you'd be royalty. You'd have your own cat to help you, you would be my mate, and our son would be Prince!"

    Spottedbreeze gave a faint smile, "But wouldn't you miss being here? Having a clan to call your own; and one that's well-respected by other cats, at that?" Her ears twitched, "I'd love to go and be with you, Nightclaw, but... just think about what we'd be giving up."

    Nightclaw sucked Ina deep breath. "The Falcons would be our home, Spottedbreeze. And all that we'd be giving up would be rewarded right back to us."

    Spottedbreeze twitched her ear, "You know that isn't true!" She paused, "We'd be giving up our friends and family. We'd be giving up almost everyone who cared about us." Her gaze flickered to the sky, "We'd be giving up Hawkclan."

    Spottedbreeze narrowed her eyes, "No, I don't. But I have clanmates. I have denmates." She sighed, flickering her gaze to the ground, "I just wish we didn't have to leave them all behind."
