Her green and blue eyes remained closed as she lay by the side of the lake. A gentle breeze flowed softly over the land. The dementors were gone, but the effects of the attack remained strong and clear. Oeli, a fifth year Ravenclaw student had dropped her wand in the midst of the battle, and her tiger patronus, along with all hope, had disappeared. Alrik, the loyal Hippogriff had his large, yellow beak rested on her torso in the hopes she would return to him.

  • Carrick saw the hippogriff lying beside a girl at the edge of the lake. He gripped his wand and ran towards her. He noticed that she was still and her eyes were closed her feared the worst as he approached.

  • Jake, a 4th year, saw a Hippogriff sitting next to a girl by the lake. He gripped his wand. He had been part of the dementor attack, and had gotten kissed himself, but managed to recover his wand at the last moment. He ran over to her. He saw another boy near her, and nodded to him.

  • Carrick nodded at the kid. He thought he recognized him, a fourth year, he thought, he was a sixth year himself, Gryffindor.

"It doesn't look good," Carrick said softly as he knelt beside her. He took her wrist into his hand and felt it. He sighed in relief. "She has a pulse, it's faint but it's there." He noticed her wand was a little ways away from her and sighed this time in sorrow. "I think she was kissed." he held her wand and then looked at the hippogriff.

  • His eyes suddenly lit up as he reconized Carrick, a sixth year from the common room. He looked down at the girl in sorrow. "I know how that feels." He muttered, and looked at the hippogriff. He made sure not to get too close and knelt beside the girl.

  • "I think we should try and take her to the infirmary," Carrick said and looked at the hippogriff. "But, I'm not sure her friend is going to let us."

  • "Yes...so maybe we can try and reach an agreement with it? I think it's just concerned with her safety," Carrick said and reached out his hand, palm up to the hippogriff slowly.

  • He nodded. He had a friend Hippogriff, Tanik, who lived in the forest. She was a good friend of his. He watched as the older boy stuck his hand out at the magnificent creature.

  • Alrik snorted with his bright yellow eyes narrowed at the two students. "Friends, or foes?" he wondered, sticking his head forwards to sniff Carrick's hand. The hippogriff's beak slowly touched his hand. Suddenly, a huge gust of wind blew over them, causing Alrik to jump up in fright. He glared at the boy angrily, and stamped his massive hooves. Alrik let out a terrifying screech before he eventually back away. Maybe they'll help her..."

Oeli opened her eyes after hearing her friend's scream. She gazed towards an undefined object in the night sky and didn't say a word. It seemed as if she was lost in deep thought, and had no connection to the world around her.

  • Oeli acknowledged Jake's question by looking his way. "Who?" she asked in a whisper, two weak to inquire properly.

Alrik's eyes brightened as he heard his human speak.

  • He gave a small smile. "I'm Jake."

Chance, a fifth year Gryffondor, sat in the grass, pondering over his first-year sister.

  • "Where?" she asked next, after giving thought into the names she had been given.

Alrik cautiously stepped forwards and gave her a nudge. Although he was a hippogriff, and unable to understand human language, he could tell something was seriously wrong.

  • He glanced at Carrick. "We need to get her to the headmaster..."

Chance stood up. "Jake!" He called, looking for his friend.
