  • Leaf-fang laid on a large patch of a grass with his head on his paws. Letting out a yawn he flicked his tail a couple times. Lazily he pawed at a passing by butterfly. "When is Crisp-paw going to get here?" Leaf-fang wondered aloud aiming his question at the fluttering butterfly.

  • A slim grey tom-cat padded slowly towards the older cat. His blue eyes were unusally dull.
"Hello Leaf-fang," Crisp-paw said in a monotonus voice. The fact he was upset was blatant, and he was candid about.
"Are we hunting, or having battle training?" Crisp-paw asked.

  • "Up to you, young one." Leaf-fang answered. He noted that Crisp-paw didn't look too happy, but he decided not to bring the matter up, unless it effected training.

  • "What will we be practicing today?" Crisp-paw asked shoving the thoughts to the back of his head.
He was slightly frustrated with the world. He remembered the russet she-kit. Her voice so broken, yet calm. He hated that about her, yet he loved it about her. The grey tom shook his head and refocused on his training.

  • "Well, if you insist me on picking, how about hunting?" Leaf-fang yawned once more, and got slowly to his feet. His tail flicked back and forth as he waited for his apprentice's answer.

  • Crisp-paw nodded.
"Lead the way," the grey tom said.
His blue eyes were clouded with pain, and regret. Why did he always have to listen to orders? Crisp-paw shook his head angrily.
"The way I was brought up," he hissed under his breath.
Then, he remembered her again. The kit, and her brother. They had needed his help. That was why he followed insructions givin to him. He Crisp-paw shook his head again and cleared his thoughts. He listened carefully to his surrondings. Crisp-paw, then looked at Leaf-fang.

  • Oblivious to Crisp-paw's feelings, Leaf-fang began to teach. "To catch prey, make sure you are in the hunter's crouch. Your weight must be spit evenly through all four paws. Use your tail to help you balance, and your whiskers to judge distance. Now, try and smell what prey is in the area." Being an older cat he had taught many apprentices (not really in the rpg) and often forgot that new apprentices are a little inexperienced. Therefore, he often rushed through his lessons.

  • Crisp-paw nodded trying to take it all in. He put himself into a hunting stance.
"Is this right?" Crisp-paw asked simply.

  • Crisp-paw lifted his muzzel to the sky. He inhaled the scent of bird. Crisp-paw silently stalked a black bird. He pounced, but missed the bird. He cursed under his breath. Crisp-paw tried to find another scent. He scented another bird, but he also scented a rabbit. He decided to go for the rabbit. He pounced, this time hitting his target. Crisp-paw felt the warm blood on his paws. The grey tom picked the rabbit up, and walked to Leaf-fang.

  • "That was amazing!" Leaf-fang exclaimed jumping to his feet. His wispy fur flowing in the cold leaf-bare air. "You are quite the natural. Your form is perfect. Have you hunted before?" He asked. "Oh and don't forget to thank Starclan for the life of your prey." Leaf-fang added quickly.

  • Crisp-paw thanked StarClan for the rabbit, and for giving him another chance to catch the prey. He suspected Neverendingpaw was watching him.
"Only once, with my Aunt Northernlights," he responded.

  • "For a beginner, I'm impressed." He commented. Pausing he drew in a deep breath and caught no scent of prey. "There's nothing up and about we can hunt, we can practice some battle moves if it's okay with you young one."

  • Crisp-paw shook his head.
"Sure, why not?" Crisp-paw said shortly.
    He awaited Leaf-fang's instruction.

  • Crisp-paw nodded. The young tom circled around the older cat. He ran and pounced.

  • "That's really good form!" Leaf-fang nodded, as he meowed his compliments. "I feel we have done enough training for the day, what say you?"
