Training -- Swirlpaw (Private)

    Firestream's firey red pelt looked the even more impressive in the sunlight. His green eyes darted around hoping to catch sight of his apprentice Swirlpaw. He was planning to show her around the borders, and maybe squeeze in some hunting training if they had time.

    Since her mother had shown her this territory over the past week, Swirlpaw knew exactly where to go to when her mentor told her to meet her at the tallpines. She wanted to train alongside her sister, Creamkit , but she needed to get into her head that wasn't going to happen very long. She was a slender apprentice, with brown and white fur mixed together.[ she's not a tortiseshell or calico. i'll find a pic.]Her strong blue eyes gave off her pride and playfulness. And her sturdy legs told everyone she would be a fast runner.Better at Agility/Endurance= better hunter. Walking up to her mentor once she spotted him, she smiled." Hi."

    "Greetings Swirlpaw." Firestream said as he got up to touch noses with her. "I was thinking we should take a tour around the territory? How does that sound?" He asked, open to other ideas.

    Yawning , she smiled at her mentor's suggestion." Sure! I wanna learn how to hunt too." Swirlkit giggled and watched a bird swoop over the sky.

    "Okayy, do you want to try some hunting first then?" Firestream asked hoping Swirlpaw wouldn't be too distracted during his lessons.


    OOC: You wrote Swirlkit instead of Swirlpaw =)

    OCC: Sorry, i have to get used to saying Swirlpaw.

    Nodding , she wanted to atleast try hunting first.The she-cat wanted to be the best hunter ever. But when she was older , she'd understand more that everyone was equal.

    OOC: lolz it's fine =)


    IC: "Okayy, when you're hunting make sure you get down low." He instructed, while lowering his body so his red belly fur was barely touching the snow. "Distribute your weight evenly between all four of your paws. Use your tail to help you balance." He flicked her tail about to emphasize what he was saying. "Next, creep slowly towards your pray, make sure your paws aren't heavy as you take your steps, because some prey can sense the vibrations and will be alerted." Slowly, he demonstrated the crawling forward, taking slow and exaggerated steps to make his point. "When you think you are close enough, spring from your crouch and kill your prey. Use your whiskers to judge distance. Oh, and don't forget to thank Starclan for having your prey give its life to you. Life is a really important thing, and shouldn't be taken lightly. Now, enough with the teaching, let's go practical. Take in the scents around you. What prey is near?" Firestream questioned, while drawing in a breath himself.

    After copying what her mentor did , she sat up and sniffed the air , scenting a mouse and a rabbit nearby . Nodding , she smiled . " there's a rabbit and a mouse ... i think ." Swirlpaw stated .

    OOC: No problem, mine are next week, and the week after..-_-''


    IC: Firestream followed his apprentice, drawing a deep breath himself. It took he a couple seconds to recover from the sharp feeling he felt when he drew in the chilly leaf-bare air. He also scented rabbit, and mouse. His apprentice was quite accurate with scenting. "Try catching something." He said, prepared to go after the piece of prey just in case his apprenticed missed. Food was scarce in leaf-bare, the clan needed all they could get.

    Swirlpaw decided to go after the rabbit . It smelt better , and it was much bigger . Since it was leafbare , this rabbit could be shared between two or three cats . Scenting it out , she crouched down and made sure everything was correct , and the rabbit didn't even sence her . Perfect , Without making a large meow or any kind of noise , she leaped into the air , pouncing on the rabbit and clawing it several times . It flung her and she landed in the soft snow , but it was bleeding and couldn't go far . She chased after it and found it dead behind a tree . Her first catch was a rabbit . She was suprised , happy .

    "Congratulations!" Firestream cried proudly. "That's great! I'm so proud! Not many apprentices catch prey on their first try! How about you take a break, take a nap in your new den? You've definitely deserve it.!"
